Absolutely. You can hear the little lead as well on the Buenos Aires show (tv-boot), a show which is in fact carried by Ronnie's guitar on several tunes (how come I like Miss You and YCAGWYW from that show? It must be Ronnie's guitar).
They need to be DARING, especially now ,and say PISS ON THE NEW FANS who want to hear warhorses up the butt! They need to come out firing on all cylinders, playing 6 warhorses at the most each show and rotating those 6; they could feature one cd each night like they did in 1999 and play at least 6 tracks off that cd in a row! Can you imagine 6 EXILE tunes in a row! Shine a Light, Let It Loose, All Down The Line, Sweet Black Angel,Ventilator Blues and Rocks Off, NO TUMBLIN DICE! Then dig deep, go back, way back to the 60's and do things off of AFTERMATH and Between The Buttons! More old stuf, then on to the 70's and do deep cuts from Sticky Fingers like Moonlight Mile and redo Sway! I know, I can dream! I think it's time to write to buddy Chuck.

The album theme concept was used at arena shows on Licks 2002-2003. It was a fine idea, and I agree with you, at least 6 songs off each album. Would like to hear a Black & Blue theme, or an IORR theme, Some Girls, Tattoo You etc....
edit: ...but I don't see it happening at this point.

GEEE. I must be getting old! I thought for sure it was further back that they did the album themes but now that I think really hard, I guess it was just 4 years ago, not part of NO SECURITY! I sure did love the LET IT BLEED night I saw and the Exile night ( and they did play Tumbling Dice!). I saw alot of shows that tour so Ill have to look back in my journal to see what " albums" were featured!

The Stones were conservative for the most part even when they were choosing which album to spotlight.Every show it was either Let It Bleed,Sticky Fingers,or Exile On Main Street except for four shows.Beggars Banquet was showcased twice,Some Girls and Tattoo You once each, all other albums zero times.
Many times with those album themed show they would just rearrannge the set list so the songs they usually played were all in a row from a particular album, but they'd sometimes throw in a treat like Lovin Cup, which was great. Could have been done a lot better, but I give them credit for trying something new. They were on the right track with that idea.
You're right. The album sections were very good at the beginning of the tour but, after a couple of months they started to get worse and worse.A perfect example of the Stones stepping it down a notch and sliding into cruise control.By the time they got to Europe, they would take, for an example,Tumbling Dice and All Down The Line (songs they play anyway) and just put Loving Cup in between.Another example is YCAGWYW and GS with Love In Vain OR Let It Bleed in between. It didn't start out like that, though.
