Typical. The topic is Germanyconfused smileyweden and the first answer is about politics.

It was a great match with an extraordinary beginning. That was the key to win. Next thrilling match against Argentinia!

it was great game. I must say I don't remember Germans playing like that in years, they were always playing boring to watch, tough football, slowly trying to reach the target. Nowadays, they play very nice, spontaneous, optimistic and offensive football. They are wonderfully prepared in terms of tactics and have a great set of different solutions. They are able to achieve World Cup this year, if they are not going to break down mentally (and they are rearranged, young team now, what means not really experienced).

match against Argentina is surely going to be exciting, but Argentina isn't playing really well, we've seen today. Mexico was obviously better team. Today's Germany in match against Sweden would win with today's Argentina against Mexico team I suppose.

Germany were positive but Sweden were not very good at all. However, Klinsman is doing a great job with the players that he has. It's about a team, not just individuals, as Brasil discovered in 1998.

Argentina will be Germany's first real test, since Costa Rica!

(btw Argentina should have been down to 10 men. This World Cup is being almost invalidated by the number of bad refereeing calls - the sending off of Lucic is another prime example).

Was great fun to see the Germans tonight. so young, enthusiastic. So "un-machine-like" - so unlike themselves. Has really Klinsman transformed them into a soccer-team with a soul? If they keep on like this - even I will cheer for them in the finals.

I thought the game was great for the Germans who I've always rooted for (the German:French match in 82 was one of the most exciting sporting events I've ever seen!). But not being an avid soccer fan(other than when the cup happens), one thing that I absolutely can't understand is how these guys get bumped to the ground and then need a STRETCHER to be carried off, only to return minutes later! Unless you've suffered a neck or spinal injury I don't see the need for these theatrics. I've seen a Super Bowl where a player played w/a broken leg, and many hockey games where the players face was split open by a puck, got 15-30 stitches while in the locker room and return barely missing a shift. This is only aspect of this great sport that drives me insane!

great world cup indeed.64 games and all sold out. ticketprices 400 euro and more. i told you months ago, that it would be very difficult for the stones to sell out their shows, not only in germany.tonight their will come 70000 england-fans and 80000 from the netherlands..its just a great party and still two weeks to go.One week later the stones in munich--half full stadium?? i dont think so.
the party goes on...

Germany will crush Argentina.I had a dream in which Germany won the World Cup beating some other team with one goal only scored by blonde hair player.

Great to see Kinsmann hasn't lost his singular way of celebrating a goal! (even though some of his own in the past have been hard to digest..)

Great game, I must say that Germany have surprised me with the way they play.....so full of spirit, a joy to watch.

One thing that was not a joy to watch was the smile the ref had on his face when he sent off the Swede, that's no way to act

Those are the FiFa regulations.
some players feel real uncomfortable and would jump off the stretcher, but it's not allowed.

Great game, yesterday.
quite amazing for me, as a non football fan

weeell, in case you refer to the referee - he gave a (questionable) penalty for Sweden...and it was a swedish player who shot it right into the sky, not the referee or one of the german actors who in fact were acting quite good in their roles as football players.

In my (let go unpracticed) eyes thet seemes to have adopted the Latin
playstyle with dramatically performed acting; the referee plus the
linemen were on Germnany´s side 99% of the time.
But my grandma plays better football than Sweden did, so...

I cannot agree that. I couldn't see anything like that. Red card for Lucic wasn't right, but on the other hand the game was totally over by then. German was totally different league than Sweden in that match and that's why they won. It wasn't because the referee or linemen or weather or bad karma or...

No, I am not from Germany myself, and in that (SWE-GER) match I was on Swedish side although I have nothing against German team either.

It is curious why always have to blame "latinos" for acting. Yes, they are acting, I agree for that, but there are lot of acting in other teams as well. For example Holland team is full of actors too. Let's look at Robben for example. Or Van Bommel. And "your" team (Sweden) has one of the biggest actor: Zlatan. I have seen acting even from England players. It wasn't just "those" latinos.

Sorry to ask but as a Latino myself, what do you mean by latinos acting???
We are no better and no worse then the anybody here, so please stop label people as when they fake it becames an Latin Act ,etc etc,Because among other things, its not nice.Enjoy the Game. Portugal is moving...

Germany is wonderful in this tournament.
Klinsmann has done a great job, though he was bashed by Beckenbauer and all the other old men of German football for his unconform methods of training.
Now that Germany is succesful, much better thsn expected by anyone, the whole country is a nearly extatic mood.
I haven't seen as many German flags in my whole life than I've seen in the last two weeks, it's wonderful. 82 million people partying.

Baboon did not speak of any Latino, that kind
of imagined nationality aint nuthin for me,
I was speaking of a Latin playstyle.
Usually its said Swedes and Englishmen/Brits
dont act so much. Of course such notions can change with
reality, like when people like Zlatan come into the national team.

I am surprised, too, about this exploding fanshipness with all the flags and really funny memorabilia. I observed a lot of germans, dressed in other flagcolours like puerto Rico, Argentina, Brasil - even Jamaica.
On a internetpublished photo (somerwehre on web.de) you can see some really fat and old german men, who has decorated a balcony with ALL THE FLAGS from all countries AND A GERMAN FLAG UNDER THE OTHERS.
speaks of itself.

Even more in Berlin in the 30s?

Sorry for the last one; but the amount of flags might not be
a measure of anything good, right?

Re: germany:sweden

we'l see. sorry for politics, but can't avopid it on this changing topic.
the german people have been beaten by their own governement for over 20 years now. Let them have fun.
Amnother point is - and I condemn that - all §$%&/! politicians of the goverment try to use this worldcup - yes - like the one in the 1930's - for their own aims.
