I'm not afraid.

To be honest, I'm not looking forward to the August show with as much eager anticipation as I have for previous shows/tours. Unfortunately, with it being a stadium show, I (like many others) know pretty much exactly what I'll be getting.

Selling the tickets has seriously crossed my mind, but I probably won't.

No. I am not, just a little nervous about how Keith is going to make it at San Siro as a lot of people...I just can't imagine The Stones leaving Europe without having played in numerous countries and being the First at Wembley.

I'm sure it's the last tour.
Charlie is tired of these all year long tours.
he just can't take it anymore

It may or may not be their last "large scale" multi-year tour, but I don't think it's their last "series of concerts"...

If you were a Rolling Stones musician, wouldn't you get together and have a gig occasionally in your old age just to have fun ?

what's the point of being afraid? it either is or it isn't. and either way:

it's the Rolling Stones!

Afraid, no. Just thankful for what they've done in the past 40 (+) years...

I expect every tour to be the last one. But I have thought that for the last 6 so that really doesn't mean anything anymore.

I'm sad to say it, but they have lost just a little. Only enough for us hardcore fans to notice...but once you start to slip...it won't be long before the masses catch on. It seems they have really turned off a lot of people on this tour what with cancellations, absurdly high ticket prices, the seat on the stage nonsense, etc. I don't think the boys need to hang em up, but it is time after this tour to scale it down big time. I could see them still doing arenas & theatres at say $100 a pop (at least here in the US). While they could probably still sell larger places at higher prices, they would have people coming that have almost no interest in the band...just the name. Perhaps they are at a crossroads where they can still make BIG bucks, or they can make much less money but still be a respectable touring/record making band. I really could see another stadium tour with HIGH prices making them just icons of their former selves rather than a real band...and that would be the saddest death of all for them. I see the Who still do arenas, much lower prices, they sell well, and the fans there are actually big Who fans. While I think the nonstop retiring Who tours are nonsense, the actual shows aren't that bad at all...and the band isn't a joke either (well, other than the 2 members part). I guess the Stones can sell by selling out, or they can sell less, but still be a real act to catch by the fans.

Up to now only Frankfurt is cancelled, I think. And this does not mean that Frankfurt will be off in 2007 at a 100 %. It might be a change in Promoters or cash legislation....

I think this is the last "trek the globe" tour. I mean, age is finally starting to catch up with them. Sure, they are gods in our eyes. But lets be realistic here; in the end they are all just human like you and me.

For how long has people said that "This is their last tour ?". I remember something from 25x5 where they said that people had been saying that since the 60s. And as for Charlie (I think that was on the 25x5 as well) he once said that he always looked upon the current tour as the last one.. smiling smiley

One could be afraid, hope and think that the "A Bigger bang tour" is the last one. And "This could be the last time".. But it ain't over yet, so let's all just enjoy it as long as we can! smiling smiley

I'm pretty sure it's the last year-long big wold tour, but you should never say never when it comes to the Stones. I'm also pretty sure it's not the last we've heard of them. A summer tour (Like Macca has done in 2004 and 2005) and another album could easily come by all of a sudden.

C'mon, Prozac for everyone -- the 2006 European tour is a go, so there's no point in looking beyond it right now.

To use an American colloquialism, anything more is gravy.
