Yeah...it was a great match from the gauchos, indeed....Congratulations.. now we will see what will be in the Quarterfinal if Germany meets Argentina...though we have to wait the round of last 16 first. Anyway..Argentina gains most respect after this almost unbelievebale 6 : 0 VICTORY !!
Cuonthe Stones tour
P.S. The french newspaper "Liberation" said that the French 0:0 vs. Suisse was as bad as if it has been the Rolling Stones farwell tour...
Well, to be honest, it was quite boring, Serbia and Montenegro was really weak and there was no tension. Germany vs Poland was the best game so far, did you see Neuville's goal ?
Yes like Spain, wait until next step, quarter final or semifinal against Spain, lets see the attack machine amigo, Viva España y los Stones!!! Carlos Tenerife, Canary Islands, ESPAÑA
European press just said was a boring game, and they were shocked because Serbia is a great team, not because Argentina technically disturbed the Serbians, just they had a very bad day, and Argentina very lucky with goals at the begining, Argentina is improving but need more games, Just heard Valdano, Cappa,Maradona, Shuster,Cruiff, Heninkens, Capello and other greats trainers on a Spain Radio Station, Cadena Ser and La Sexta TV channel, until now the best team in Germany is Spain
Congratulations Argentina! By so far the best team in tournament. Seems that next round against Mexico and then Germany, France/Italy...
Edit: Spain was good too. If they win their group, the only possibility to meet Argentina is in final... not a mission impossible though for either teams

sure Argentina has a great attack but I would like to see it against some other team. 3 goals were scored against a team that was playing in 10 and willing for the match to be already over. Serbia was the weakest team I've seen till now both phisically and tactically.
Its possible to mention maradona without bla bla bla... drugs. People seems to deal with that problem when it comes to keith.. Hes a very emotional guy when it comes to football
if you mean holland its world champions of fouling (guy held ivorian forward in box and ref did not see it) and diving (robben and before him a midfielder down the right wing who literally just made up a dive which caused the ivorian near him to get a card)
i was surprised.. i did not realize holland were so negative on the pitch..so into fouling and diving...
and yesterday we had crouching fouler hidden grabber of course on england..
everyone talks about the hand of god but its like LOOK IN THE MIRROR BUDDY!
stoned in dc, that was meant ironically. 2nd half was a shame, the dutch were completely impotent and very very lucky. As we say in Holland: Van Basten has a little angel sitting on the crossbar.
---------------------------- "Music is the frozen tapioca in the ice chest of history."
Holland had a all the luck in the second half. The ref was worthless. He blew the wistle for every little thing. He kept the speed out the game.
Van Persie was the man of the match.
P.S I hope this topic won't be deleted because it isn't Stones related.
Talking about the Stones. I tell you a little story.
Back in 1998 when the Stones were in Holland for their European BtB tour I was at the Amstel Hotel for almost everyday. I don't remember if was before the first concert or between some concerts. Anyway, While I was waiting for the hotel for Jagger or some other Stone to come outside We saw on television Jagger was sitting in France in the stadium watching England - Argentina. So it wasn't worth waiting for his return because we didn't know at what time he would arrive and if he would arrive that night. So we went downtown for a good beer.

I'd say
Figo = Elvis Ronaldinho = Jimi Hendrix Del Piero = Bruce Springsteen Peter Crouch = ???
Argentina = Rolling Stones (the best Rock and ...Ball!) Brazil= Beatles ("good boys", loved by the industry) England = Oasis (They consider themselves as the greatest act, but noone else has the same opinion) Germany= Scorpions (both were on the top in seventies and they had success in 1990 too) Holland = Golden Earring (sucessful in the seventies, still classic) Italy = Eric Burdon ("When I Was Young"- 1982)

I quite agree. I like your idea. But don't forget Maradona was exiled from tournament after 5-0 match in 1994.
Yes, Argentina was great. Unbelievable. But you can't completely judge a team with an opponent like this one. For example, they had a really rough time against Ivory Coast.
