Can anyone recommend a nice and reasonable priced hotel in Berlin, preferably near the Olympiastadium... ?

Public transportation is perfect in Berlin. No need to stay close to the venue. Try IBIS hotels. They are clean and cheap. Or Mercure. [www.accorhotels.com]

Most hotels in Berlin are located around Kurfürstendam, close to the city centre and not to far away from the venue. I have booked hotel at Hotel Kurfürst, right next to Kurfürstendam. As BV said the public transport is great, and in the worst case scenario you can even walk the distance. But after a concert I guess you're a bit tired, so just take the U2-line from the Olympia Stadion back to city centre.

I also booked a hotel (Raffles Swissotel..expensive but my sister in law works for the hotel chain) around Kurfürstendamm, 300 meters from Station Bahnhof Zoo. U2-line as well. With U2-line I went to U2 concert last year. Crowded - a little bit waiting on my way back to the hotel. But everything worked fine.

Since Olympiastadion is a bit outside the tram traffic back into the city is very crowded. It takes some time so you either leave early (who wants this?) or wait till jams get less.

I have booked into www.eastsidehotel.de - a nice hotel close to town just beside the berlin wall.... it cost around 70 euro for a doubble room....

I was in the hotel last year - really nice..

Maybe someone is interested in the more moderate backpacker hostels in Berlin.
check this site:

btw, your Stones ticket entitles you to free public transportation, to and from Olympia Stadion.
