Went to see Ted Nugent at Rock City in Nottingham last night... F*cking legend! He could teach the stones a thing or two.. No frills.. just hard hitting rock 'n' roll!
i went to see Old Reggie Dwight and his rug, at Charlton Athletic Football Stadium, last night... (don't laugh, i was given good floor seats for free)
...wasn't expecting much, but the old queen put on a good show, belted out the hits, and played plenty of his old '70's stuff. good show - and an unexpected enjoyable evening.
Certainly not! I've seen the stones a few times and Ted was more rocking. Sorry but thats my opinion.. How can you say the stones are rock with 'female backing singers'. That's bon jovi style mate (womens rock).. Back in the seventies the stone stones were the best but not these days..
Ted Nugent played Glasgow, Scotland on Tuesday night - what a show!! He played that guitar better than anyone Ive ever seen. It was awesome. Ive seen Angus Young, Keith and Ronnie, Pete Wells, Brian May, Ace Frehley, even Chuck Berry. I cant remember anyone playing better than the Nuge in Glasgow. Thanx Ted!
I thought he was too busy running his campaign for governor of Michigan. Either way, the notion that he could teach the Stones anything is too ludicrous to even be challenged.
Ted has a new reality show (yawn) about his new supergroup: Ted, Sebastian Bach (Skid Row singer), Scott Ian (Anthrax), bass player from Skid, and Jason Bonham. Incredibly bad music and television.
The last time I saw something from Nugent, he was riding in FOS on a horse with a Winchester in his hand... What a parody, never seen anything like it. The worst of all is that he thinks it's cool. His music is IMO mediocre at best.

Sorry Andy J but you are so wrong. Ted Nugent is absolutely on fire just now. As I said before, Ive seen loads of amazing guitarists down the years, but this was probably the best. He was just awesome. 3 piece band and no b*ullshit. I can add Jimmy Page and Blackmore to the list I gave earlier, but this was the best. I'm 35 and have been going to rock gigs since I was 12 (first gig was Motorhead at the old Glasgow Apollo in 83). I saw the Stones in the States (St Louis) in Jan this year, and they rocked. Was my 4th time seeing the Stones. But the way Ted played was totally inspired. Yes he is still a redneck and a bit homophobic. But Im big enough to laugh along with it all. Please dont tell me we have to take everything too seriously!
What does his politics have to do with whether he can rock or not? The Dixie Chicks can bash Bush and that's cool but let someone lean a little right and suddenly they can't play a guitar or put on a good show?
Yes Nugent as a person is a lowlife moron, but the only thing that counts is the music. Thats where it gets amusing, its also shit. I find it hard to imagine someone over 15 thinking such mindless garbage has any value at all. The arguement that he can play guitar doesnt wash, he plays fast blues scales, wow! so do about 100'000 bar bands across the States every night.
I also know what i'm talking about I saw Nugent when I was a kid, but you grow out of it fast, unfortunately he didnt.

Well maybe you grew up and thats your problem. Im proud of the fact that I never grew up where music is concerned. I grew up in terms of work, commitments and the like. I'm glad I never grew up musically. Go listen to Phil Collins if you want to be mature....Leave the Nuge to those of us that still wanna rock.
Nugget is a great guitarist, but he has only a handful of good songs while the Stones have dozens of great ones. I'd rather hear a somewhat Vegas-like Jumpin' Jack Flash than the rockingest version ever of Cat Scratch Beaver.

I'm infatuated with the Stones, thats why I'm here. But I gave up thinking they walked on water a long time ago. My favourite band has always been AC/DC but whe I see Rose Tattoo play a better show than the DC or indeed the Stones I call it like it is. Ted Nugent was awesome in Glasgow this week. Just him and a bassist and drummer. Nowhere to hide! Not like the Stones with a second guitarist hidden away behind the wings. As for those who dont like Teds right wing leanings or his hunting.......Well get this: maybe I dont like the Stones advocacy of hard drugs, or their mysoginistic, or racist lyrics (Stupid Girl, Some Girls). Or maybe I dont give a toss. Pot, Kettle black and all that!

That's a good one, StonesTod....."passenger seat."
