There is a lot of confusion about tour dates, cancellations and rescheduling right now. If everybody is using THIS thread rather than making up lots of new threads then it will be easier for everyone to comment and read. I will only read and comment in this thread, because many things are connectyed to each other, so commenting on one show also makes sense for another.

Some shows are gone now. Local promoters says they will not happen this year at all. Which means they have NOT been given a new date in September. I think the Stones want to keep the rest of September free, so that they can keep their North America, Bangkok, India etc plans as they were originally. Then if they can agree to it they will come back and play more shows next summer. Or do indoor shows this winter. But they don't want to commit so that is why they say later.

Goteborg won't be this year - or at least this summer - read the press release.

Any news when the postponed shows will take place bv? I mean not exact date but year

thanks Bjornulf

Strange however that although theyve given clarification that the tickets for Amsterdam #1 are valid for the new date and Amsterdam #2 is postponed, the same information doesnt seem to be available for the Paris shows.

if they can't "commit"to shows, as you say, BV,
how about "commiting" to giving refunds?

Damn! Two tickets to Brussels and Four Gold Tickets to Vienna I won't be able to use. Only Twickenham for me, probably.

But you know what? After watching Keith tear it up on the Saitama broadcast, I am just happy that he has recovered and will be back on stage.

I wish that I could make it to Milan. The charge when he hits those opening chords for JJF (or SMU) will be unbelievable!

Frankfurt is postponed and now they play Vienna that night? Why not find a free date for Vienna? If they postpone Frankfurt to maybe next year why dont they do it with Vienna? This is a hit in my face i will give back tickets. And i cant believe Cohl saying he is "delighted". Does this man care about all the people that are now in trouble with flights, hotels and so on.

maybe Vienna sold far better and from Cohl's statement in the press release, I get the impression that theyre trying to play as many COUNTRIES as they can in the few dates they have available this summer

I also think that by postponing some German shows to 2007 theres a much greater chance of them selling out without having the World Cup to compete with

They should release a DVD with an endless repetition of these first riffs...

I think that all german shows didnt sell well cause Leipzig and Nuremberg are cancelled. Local promoters offer a bus shuttle service from Leipzig to Berlin and from Nuremberg to Munich. That means that Berlin and Munich must have enough free capacity to take those people from Nuremberg and Leipzig. I think ticket prices are too high for germany since theres a big economic crisis and high unemployment.

Indeed Gazza the German policy is a very effective way to deal with the initial overenthusiastic planning. In that way Keith' unfortunate troubles couldn't have come at a better time, so to speak.

They've cancelled Leipzig and Nürnberg (the shows they previously tried to save with GnR appearing). They postponed Frankfurt, to keep one german show for next year (people from e.g. Koln will go again then) and give the more wanted Vienna show a chance on that date.

People who were going to these three shows may hand their tickets back in and can on that occasion purchase a ticket to one of the other german shows at a €20 discount, which helps to fill up Munich, Koln, Berlin and Stuttgart.

To accommodate a visit from Nürnbergians to Munich and Leipziger to Berlin cheap shuttle buses will be provided (extra incentive to opt for another show).

(Roughly translated from the german message above.)

I think they've done a very wise thing. The halve-empty risks have been cancelled, the 25% empty ones will be filled up.

I posted this on a thread about the Barcelona and Madrid gigs being in September, but as many other european cities share the same situation as these two, I think I must repeat it here.

BTW, sadly many of us who have made plans to assist the opening gig in Barna should be thinking about having our money back as I doubt they play Barna and Madrid this year (if ever again, if you think about it soberly)...

This was what I wrote before about those spanish gigs being moved to september:
------

I don't think so, sadly.

The Spanish football league begins about the last weekend in August or the first weekend in september, and both Barna and Madrid stadiums are used by the Espanyol (in Barna) and Atlético de Madrid... So my bet is no stadium shows in Spain in september. Therefore I don't know what can happen to the Barna and Madrid gigs, which are the biggest cities in Spain and those shows were already sold-outs. To acommodate (sp?) the people attending those shows in the scheduled stadiums they should do about five or six indoor shows in both Madrid and Barna. It would be great for those of us who already have tickets for these shows, but I much doubt it will happen... As those shows being in 2007, well, then it must be summer in 2007, because in most Europe stadiums are used by football teams from september to june...

Here i disagree. I think it would have been wise to go to smaller venues instead and not to piss fans off. They shouldnt forget that its the fans where the money comes from.

Paris II :

I reread on rs.com and ticketnet.fr. Paris I : June 3rd is postponed to July 28. And Paris II, July 2, will take place in 2007. Good news. That leave for way for a 2nd show in 2007 in France, maybe....

If they do go out in 2007, it will make sense to play enough dates to make the extention financially worthwhile.
For the folks who like to see the band as many times as they can on any given tour...it could be a blessing in the end. Time to save up the pennies !

Im pissed...lost my Frankfurt gig...after barcelona and paris the 3rd of 4 planned gigs which is gone for me..just Cologne left.

The should have kept the original tour plan and should replace the 15 gigs in 2007 imo.

But who am I to complain..just a lousy fan...go away fan..but leave your money before you go.

Anyway...The Stones are still rolling

Doesn't usually apply to me these days sadly.
My son has accompanied me on the last three tours and he's still in full time education...so dad foots the bill. Consequently, it's been one show on each tour in recent years because it's all we can afford.

..but if the chance arose to catch a show next year, I just might get it past the chancellor of the household exchequer ;^)

as those 2 shows are sold out - as youve said - and in the two biggest cities in Spain, there is no way the Stones' ABB trip to Spain is merely going to be confined to Valladolid and El Ejido. They'll quite obviously take place next summer.

Let´s see....... we can think than this list of shows.... will be ALL THE SHOWS than we got in 2006 in Europe??? No shows 10 or 18 August, not shows between Koln and Paris??

Re: New Tourdates

there were never shows confirmed for those dates (well, Dublin was confirmed for the 18th but cancelled before it went on sale). they never play more than 4 shows (with a day in between) before taking a break

Bjornulf likely has it right...Europe this summer followed by a return to North America and India beginning some time in September and then back to Europe in Spring of '07 (if at all).
