Everyone has their opinions, but most people probably regard ER as the weakest album of the 70's. That's probably true, but it's certainly worth owning. Buy a nice used vinyl copy and get the fold out poster. While a lot of the tunes seem unfinished and the production is a little rough, to me, it's kind of like a great bootleg.

Errrr, Emotional came out in 1980.

T&A, I used to not really like Summer Romance but that one grew on me. As far as Where the Boys Go. I don't really like punk too much and the backing vocals at the end have always killed me. I have gotten a handful of friends into the Stones and they all pretty much laughed at this song as well. I know many people love this song but it never did it for me.

just what are we looking for here? deep social commentary...this album is alright with me because it has mick looking for keith on the avenue...girls looking for cigarettes and stockings...it is just music to drive around with in your car...come on when summer romance or she's so cold come on you don't feel like hitting the gas?... respectable or summer romance? let me go or whip? down in the hole or some girls? miss you or dance? these songs are interchangeable when listened to out of order or perhaps not knowing what album was what...it's just the stones doing what they do best, ears up, rocking, punking, funking, country and westerning out...

Funny about the humping. I only hump legs of females sorry T&A. Well how about this next time I am having a few beers and blasting my music I will give this another try. Maybe I will just play the ER album start to finish and report back. I am an 80s child so when I was first getting into the Stones I became very familiar with their 80s albums, bought the Harlem Shuffle single when it first came out and was so excited for Dirty Work to be released.

By the way, Mick should have his picutre on the front cover of ER with his big hippy beard.

If you don't like it, it completes a set of coasters along with Goddess, Majesties, and Dirt Work.

yeah - it wasn't one of their more inspired album covers. Mick looked cool in that beard.....

why would anybody love the "soup"......Heartbreaker, Coming Down Again, Winter, Silver Train, Star Star................horrible songwriting...........doesnt hold its weight with the big 3: Steel Wheels, Bridges To Babylon & Dirty Work

Good record. Too be purchased after getting all the previous albums. The title track is great kitsch--"I'll be your knight in shining armor.."--Mick's last great rap improv--that and the bit from Dance--"Hey Keith--Whatcha doin'?"

Good rockers, a good blues, a couple solid ballads, a reggae track and a couple dance tunes. Clean guitar tones bring out the bass guitar. Love the bass on this album but would also like to hear a dirtier guitar mix.

This is the first Stones album I bought (it was the current release).
