REHEARSALS NEED?
Posted by: schwonek ()
Date: May 16, 2006 19:02

Here is what they did:

In 99: May 18 - May 29 (incl 3 days off) rehearsals for European Tour. End of US tour was April 19 in San Jose. So only a month off!

But then:

In 98: a 1.5 month break and just one day rehearsal.

In 95: a 1 month break and ? days of rehearsal.

In 2006: ? month break and i assume 2 days of rehearsal.

you forgot 2003 - which was 3 days rehearsals after a break of about 8 weeks

I would imagine those rehearsals arent too intensive

whatever way you look at it, what rehearsals are needed tended to be minimal''

'95 maybe isnt a good example because they opened the tour with 2 club shows in Amsterdam and were playing many songs at the small gigs that werent played at the stadiums, plus they were filming Amsterdam for TV, so I would guess more rehearsal time was necessary for that purpose alone.

Spud - it's not just "the look" it's the WHOLE PICTURE...
His arms out front like that, the aged face, the goofy eyeliner
(he should have never picked up that habit from Jagger!!)
stiff legged, he look's every bit of a old man!!!

my father looked like that to me, and he was in his late 80's!!!

Keith need to take better care of himself!!! he's not 20 or 30 anymore!!

He's had all these years of "EXCESS" time to cool it!!!

True. They spent about a week in Amsterdam rehearsing, recording, and doing the two Paradiso shows. After Amsterdam they continued with another five days of rehearsals in Stockholm.

...Sure he does (take care).
But his only one year younger than my old old grandpa was
before the latter died in the age of 63. And I can assure
you that he lookes way way older. My grandpa also had arthritis,
but spinal and he could hardly walk.
Good for you you had a father so crisp in his 80s.

The man may rock the *ss off us all in due time.

Keith looks really good - the photographer was just so-so.
if you go to [editorial.gettyimages.com] and do a search for Keith Richards,
there's a whole series of shots of him leaving the hospital on the 10th or whenever it was.
the papers seem to have chosen mainly the "frailer"-looking photos, for some reason ...
(thanks to StonesSoCal on shidoobee for the lead.)

Keith, be well - all the way, baby, all the way

The tabloids ought to be real ashamed
over their treatment of such a rock legend if anyone asks me.

The way Keith is looking at the stairway ahead of him seems as if he possibly may have some visual depth perception issues he's dealing with. Has anyone seen him look so closely at stairs before - by turning his head down to adjust his gaze of the stairs to gage his movement down them?

When they landed in China recently he moved down the flight of stairs off the plane without looking down or using the railing - in the pictures I saw that were posted.

My dad was in his late 50's when had a head injury from falling off a ladder a few years ago, and right afterwards he had some problems walking on uneven surfaces and stairs. On stairs he had to use the railing and when we would go on hikes he had to use a walking stick. But on flat surfaces he was fine, and in time it went away, within a year I think. Now he is perfefly fine.
Hopefully if keith is having trouble it goes away quickly.

Getting the OK to fly is the 2nd step in his road to recovery. Will Keith be going back to his Connecticut home to recuperate?

Personally, I'd say he'll be visiting the doctor on a weekly basis for check-ups.

The next step will be his motor skills and stamina for a 2 hour show every other night or every 3rd night.

You said it ...they've been telling us/him that he was on the cusp of dying for nigh on 30 years..I've seen pix of him in the 70' looking more frail than he does now...

....and I find it all so funny - blaming the man for an incident caused by his lifestyle, when his lifestyle is what got us (me anyhoo!) worshipping him in the first place.....

..and it's not brain surgery for God's sake...they drill a hole in the skull to relieve the pressure from bloodclots that - untreated - could cause braindamage..

Not at all, they usually are just really comfortable. If I wear socks with them they get too hot, but you're supposed to wear them without socks.

Ah, Cindy, a "must do" on your list (just call it experimentation the way our friend Laura does about her past) Did you know that that lucky bong Nikkibong is sitting in Paris RIGHT NOW? (CindyC loves Paris too Ncool smiley So NIKKIBONG, how is the "City of Lights" doing? Are you jet lagged pretty bad or getting out and about? We should all pool together, open some kinda club there, and move outta here, you guys ready? What kinda club would go over right now? How about "Club Zanzibar"? CindyC, can you cook or make good drinks? NB could be the DJ...I'll get the investors...CC can also do the PR, maybe Lukester will want a piece of this genius idea.... There's a big light bulb over my head right now kids !!! Good sign !!

he's been looking pretty old for the last two tours but he's still got a beautiful smile that lights up his face - regardless of what kind of teeth he has

the eyeliner puzzles me - i can't imagine why he'd do that - maybe for the same reasons so many women wear make-up - they think it makes them look better. he must be feeling pretty good if he's willing to go to that effort - or else, its a result of the head injury...lol

I'm wondering why haven't the NZ reporters, Reuters, AP, etc. picked up this news about Keith?

Because reporting that someone is doing well is not quite as interesting as saying that he's fallen from a coconut tree, had a hole drilled in his head, or is on the brink of suffering permanent brain damage.
