okay - well, it was BEFORE the Stones hit the stage - but a handful of us at the front of the stage were pulled up during Solomon Burke's opening act. We boogied with the band and my buddy and I sauntered off into the back of the stage to check out the setlist posted on Charlies' drumkit and peak backstage at which point we were "re-directed." Then we just did some duck walks across the stage while the Burke & band played a Little Richard medley. Probably up there about 10 minutes altogether.
I refer to that as the day "I opened" for the Stones....
I have never seen chaires on the ground on a rockconcert before. And if I did get a frontrow-ticket, I don`t think I could able to sit down under the concert and in the end someone would trough me out.
Back in '97 in San Jose I had a "working pass" and was in front of the front row! Had front row at the last show in Vegas on Keith's side and thought I had died and gone to heaven. There is nothing to compare except maybe first row right off to the side of the stage which is acutally just as good and I have had the luck to have a few times. Then you are elevated and totally at eye contact with the band.

were you the guy with the black button up shirt with the tongues - and your friend was wearing the same?
i was front row in front of keith that night - i would've gotten up on stage but i was worried about losing my spot!

T&A, can I see the picture? That must have been awesome to be up there.
cindy, since i'm asking T&A if "he's the guy who..." i hope you don't mind if i ask if you're the cindy of "i love mick jagger" site - sorry if this has been asked elswhere or is a known fact and i've missed it!
I don't mind at all if you ask. But I am not that Cindy. I actually never heard of her or that site until people on here started asking me about it. I sometimes feel badly because people thank me for a great site and things like that. I am always quick to point out that the credit does not belong to me.
I wonder if people ask her if she's the obnoxious girl on IORR! Life's not fair, I get her credit, and she gets my embarrassments!
Do you have the URL for that site, I'd like to take a look at it.

you must have been standing next to sdstonesguy (a sometimes poster here) - he got ALOT of "airtime" on the FF video...did you?
hi cindy, here it is: [www.ilovemickjagger.com] - under "cindy meets the stones" there is one particularly interesting picture of mick - his hair is blowing sideways - not the most flattering.

funny you should say that - i know him and traveled a little with him during the UK tour in '99 but i wasn't next to him during the show. i can see myself a little here and there in the Wiletern FF clips - but funnily enough, i became good buddies with the cameraman right in front of me that night and he took so much footage of me, he boss had to tell him to stop. he told me that the whole show was going to part of the DVD - so i wonder if my mug might have ruined that idea. i got a cameo in the paris olympia show when i was front row but way down at the right end, not expecting it. i look like an idiot.
i think i've seen you at other shows too if your M.O. is that shirt (your friends' also?) but not sure where.

most of my shows have been west coast, mainly bay area. yeah, my friend and I only wear stones dragonfly shirt (sometimes with pants if we're in a really dress-up mood).

Another post here is correct that front row in a stadium is a bit different than front row front row (T&A I think). I was front row for the following:
LA 97 (2nd show) Edingburgh 99 Sheffield 99 London 99 London 99 Wiltern 02 SF 02 (2nd Show) San Jose 02 Rotterdam 03 Rotterdam 03 Ahoy 03 Utrecht 03 Amsterdam 03
The Wiltern is by far my fav. gig for reasons many of you know. Vredenburgh (Utrecht) & LA 97 are the only 2 front row I was on Ronnie side...but at Vredenburgh that meant I was right in front of Mick on Worried About You. Ahoy was an awesome front row as the stage was quite low & I ended up on the commercials for the DVD.
I was also front row B-Stage for the following:
Las Vegas 99 Anaheim 99 Anaheim 99 San Jose 99 San Jose 99 LA (Staples) 02 SF 02 (1st show) San Diego 02 MSG 03 MSG 03 San Diego 05 Fresno 05
For Shep Bush 99 I was in the balcony...& glad I was...was SOOO hot & I can only imagine the floor. But being a club gig...hey...I'm sure everyone had a blast.

I wish I knew how tpo post pictures here because I have some awesome shots from August 10, 1975, Buffalo New York, Rich Stadium. I was as far front as you can get, up on some guys shoulders shooting away! It was a dream!
Front row on Keiths side Skydome fortylicks tour, not all that great as you can't even see Keith or Charlie when K's on back half of stage. Stage just oo high but best part is hearing the stage amps instead of the noise going out of the big towers. And the glint in the eyes, and Keith is my pal.Bless him and his family
I was front row once at a live sex show in Bangkok, Thailand - the Patpong area...It was 2 girls and a guy and they got so into it that I needed a whole bunch of paper towels to wipe off body fluids before I was able to hit the streets looking for my little Thai Angel....
