The Ones That Didn't Make The Cut

Hey gang

Hope everyone's day has been going well.

I've been thinking of the bootleg instrumentals and versions of songs that I have, and I was wondering, of the ones that you own, which do you think were worthy of being actually put on an album.

I'll start the ball rolling (ha ha) by saying that "Potted Shrimp" could have evolved into an impressive rocker for Let It Bleed (I think that's the sessions that it came from).

I even wrote lyrics for Potted Shrimp that were actually for another song, but when I realized they fit with the tempo of Potted Shrimp, I realized how perfect it was.

What do you guys think?

I could sit the whole week with this (others could perhaps sit
for ages); But spontaneously I'd say I Dont Know Why
(even if its a cover) & I'm Goin Down are hot candidates for me.
IGD may be called just an embryo for a song,
but what an embryo...

Jump On Top Of Me is another hottie.

Still A Fool is Muddy Waters' "Catfish Blues"

you mean 'Catfish Blues' is Muddy Waters' 'Still A Fool'. This would be one of my choices too.

Highway Child
Travelling Man
Cops & Robbers (a live radio show cut rather than an outtake but should have been a studio recording)

Yeah! Cops & Robbers is one of the coolest recordings Stones ever did.

Funny. I have a CD that says Still A Fool by Muddy and that's the same song. Catfish Blues I never heard of....

Muddy sang both Catfish Blues and Still A Fool.

To make this a bit more confusing (this comes from fuzzy mamory): isn't so that Muddy's "Catfish Blues" and "Rolling Stone" are same songs?

Doxa:

per my prior post - they're essentially ALL THE SAME. However, specifically-speaking, no, Muddy recorded different songs, titled:

Rollin' Stone
Catfish Blues
Still a Fool (Two Trains Runnin')

All of them are different songs. Perhaps quite similar, but then aren't "Johnnie B. Goode", "Bye Bye Johnnie", "Sweet Little Sixteen", "Little Queenie" and "Let It Rock" are the same song too...

well, Chuck's "School Days" and "No Particular Place to Go" literally ARE the same tune, but with new lyrics...

My english grammar was really nasty in my last post*. I tried to say that all those Berry songs were basicly the same.

*(Tomorrow I'm going to London for a few days. I hope my grammar is good enough to order a few pints! LOL)
