As I am watching Knebworth 76, I cant see a better moment than Wild Horses? What do you think?

Yeah that one's good. I think the sound mix gets a lot better on that one all of a sudden. (but I have the VHS tape so maybe the DVD is a lot better)

Imagination from Hampton. A spontaneous jam - longer than any other '81 version - that just goes on and on. Heroic!

the opening of SFM on Four Flicks MSG always gets the adrenaline going here . . .(not saying it's the best ever, though)

What a joke. The setlists of the 70's were boring and static. No diversity at all. I prefer the Rolling Stones of the 21th century every single day of the week.

So many to choose from but a few off the top of my head :

Its All Over Now from the TAMI show (just watch Brian whipping the crowd up)
The Stones in complete awe watching Howlin Wolf on Shindig
Paint It Black with Brian Jones sitting cross-legged playing sitar
The Jumpin Jack Flash promo, with all that face paint
HTW from MSG on 'Gimme Shelter' (jagger's facial expressions are priceless)
Jagger's vocal performance in the 'Pop Go the 60's' version of Gimme Shelter
Charlie on the promo of Far Away Eyes
Keith 'chopping the mother down' at Hampton '81
That opening aerial shot of Sun Devil Stadium in the 'Lets Spend The Night Together' movie
The bit during "Just my imagination" in the same film where Keith & Ronnie share the same cigarette whilst singing backing vocals, without missing a note.
The Stones/Muddy footage from Checkerboard Lounge
Keith's solos on 'Sympathy' from Tokyo '90
Jagger's 'scat' style vocal at the end of 'Gimme Shelter' on the same show
their first ever use of a b-stage at the Miami PPV show in 1994.
Keith pulling possibly the most psychopathic facial expression of all time during the slow part of 'Midnight Rambler' from Rio '95
the Paradiso, Olympia and Brioxton footage from 'Stripped'
the sight of band cruising over the Brooklyn Bridge en route to the BTB press conference
The utter mayhem at River Plate Stadium (and the band's reaction to it) during 'Little Queenie' from Buenos Aires '98
The Blimp!
Thats How Strong My Love Is from Four Flicks
Copacabana '06 - what an event, what a crowd, what a show.

- Keith soloing on Sympathy in Live at the Max (standing solid as a rock in the winds, showing the diversity of his imagination)

- The documentary from FF ("Perhaps they can afford air conditioning now")

- The Prague footage from "Licks around the world" or whatever it was called.

- Opening a Bridges concert (the real bigger bang avant la lettre)

Man I really need to go get that movie somewhere. I love stadium overviews and I love '81 daytime footage. Is that the movie were you see Mick and Keith running from either side of the stage to the middle at the start?

Has anyone any news about the plans of the Scandanavian re-release of LSTNT?

Manhattan, Sorry bro but I got news for you, I saw every US tour in the 70's (including the Earthquake benefit show in Jan. 73 - LA Forum) and not only were the set lists great (I mean, Check out the '75 tour) but the Stones were in their prime. Mick was the definition of a rock star - no one better, no one more entertaining. You missed it my friend (but you're the same dude that thinks it's OK for political prisoners in China to get shot in the head for speaking against the government so I have a tiny bit of trouble taking you seriously about anything)

Gotta go with I Wanna Be Your Man, 1964--UK Joe Loss Show, as I recall, with Brian doing the backup vox and burning slide like no tomorrow...now, THAT...was rock'n'roll.

As said before, the opening of Under My Thumb in the Let's Spend The Night Together movie, it's so damn awesome.

MicksBrain, i appreciate your political opinions (atleast some of them), but i am very tired of this nostalgic idealization about the Stones of 70s. I mean the second half of 70s...

Of course the band was always great and still is. They had it, they have it. But:

(A) IMO Love You Live is the weakest Stones live album. With a lot of mediocre versions (and what a nervelless Tumbling Dice!). Do you think Mick was in his prime then? I don't. He very often was singing completely out of tune (SFTD), or being embarrassed (YCAGWYW), or just "munching" (HTW, JJF, etc). Ronnie was the strong point of the band, but not always as marvellous as many fans are saying. For example: I find his solo on YCAGWYW just childish. Some consider it as a classic solo. Matter of taste.

(cool smiley IMO Keith very often was "almost dead" in 1976 (a lot of drugs, i suppose). Remember him in Knebowrth. Ronnie saved a gig for 200,000 people.

(C) Sorry, but to me the weakest Stones tour ever was 1978 round. Not bad, of course, but the weakest. I don't appreciate so much this "punky spirit" that was prompting their performances to be unstable, frivolous and full of mistakes. Much more mistakes than they do since 1989! During 1978, if their peak on stage made "Handsome Girls", their weak moments made "Out On Bail". Almost bad, to me.

(D) With respect, but a good or bad setlist is matter of taste and of personal preference. But a list that remains the same every night, during a tour, is fact. Not opinion.

i actually think SFM on Four Flicks is pretty boring. The lighting is bad and the song before the band comes on is so ridiculously dull.

It surely is!
Too bad there were so few outdoor shows in daylight before the 90s. We're lucky to have this one from Tempe.
It looks spectacular, when you see the audience that clear.

OK, i forgot to mention my best Stones moment on DVD...

Hyde Park: JJF, Love In Vain, HTW, SFTD.

Sun Devil Stadium 1981: Under My Thumb, Let's Spend The Night Together, Time Is On My Side, Black Limousine. (To be honest, i don't like very much the arena show of the video)

Live at the Max: Start Me Up, Ruby Tuesday, YCAGWYW, Brown Sugar.

Maiami 1994: Tumbling Dice, Satisfaction, Sweet Virginia, It's All Over Now, HTW, JJF.

St Luis, 1997: Satisfaction, Gimme Shelter, Out Of Control, JJF.

Four Flicks: Çow and what can i select? Just marvellous!

Let It Rock from Live @ the Marquee (awesome leads by Keith)
Dead Flowers from L&G (Glimmers sharing the mike, MT player gloriously)
Sympathy from LA Blues 75 (11 July, with all the ladies coming out and dancing)
SFM from It's a Gas In Paris (Mick's throwing water/flowers makes me laugh ever time)
She's So (F***in) Cold from LSTNT (pure energy)
Little Red Roosters Atlantic City 89 (were gonna play a bluessssss)
Beast of Burden Oakland 94 Halloween (Keith plays beautifully)
Monkey Man 4 Flicks (awesome performance)
That's How Strong 4 Flicks (Mick is in another world on this one, its amazing)
