That's right nikki, it is all about the music, or at least should be. But I also think that having a logo might make an artist stand out a little bit more as well. Just my opinion. smiling smiley

Most band logos suck. Stones' logo is nice but if they never had a logo at all I wouldn't care.

the idea that people on a mailinglist or forum need nicks is idiotic. it's about the message!

Aside from the Stones tongue, I like AC/DC and Van Halen, the version that's on the Van Halen 2 cover. When Sammy Joined, they changed the style of the logo to the current "crown" style. Also liked Iron Maiden's logo and Motorhead back in high school.
I remember when KISS toured Germany back in the early 80's, they had to change the design of the SS because it looked like the Nazi SS, so they made it look like a backwards Z.
One of the best logos I recall is from Angel. Don't know any of their music, although I think they were an American band, mid 70's glam era? Their logo is designed so it reads the same upside down.

Am I the only one who thinks that Aerosmith's symbol is one of the most recognizable logos out there? It's awesome and just as popular as any other. I honestly can't think of one person I know, except maybe my grandma, who doesn't know what the Aerosmith logo looks like.

wtf. i tried to post a picture of it on here but it didn't do anything. oh well. i'm sure eveyone knows it.

The funny thing is that The Stones never had a real logo concerning the words "Rolling Stones". Okay, they got the tongue but even the tounge they don't use as a trademark on most of their album covers.

Regarding Aerosmith, they have a very recognizeable logo since their name is in it! They had a similar situation like VH, where they had an earlier logo like the one on Rocks and Toys In The Attic and then it changed to the current design. Of the two, I prefer the current style. Regardless, nice logos!
