nonesense the fast forward button was NOT created to skip over songs while trying to enjoy the experience of an album...

perhaps some people here would have wanted 40 songs on abb ..why not make it a triple cd??? i mean if anything the stones do is great ..

give me a break... an album is something worth holding on to and not chucking it out the window cause of itunes..

i still play let it bleed all the way through..i don't have to skip songs! why should i have to skip songs with a bigger bang?

if you don't like albums then you should not even be speaking of abb as an album.. just say "i like this song" or "i like that song" or "i never listen to this one"

i like albums and you play them straight thru if they are worth their money.. if you have to skip sweet neocon (much as i agree with sentiment this song is horrendous .. what now someone is going to write its their favorite song?)

also, black and blue has NO weak songs.. certainly not comapared to ABB

they should have taken the 10 best songs (cause there aren't 12 here) and made that the album... people would have dug it.... then the others could have been b-sides...or held over for the next album sessions (like they did with allthose songs for tatto yoo, right?)

Im with you on that. ONe time I looked WAY back and there was a thread about A bigger bang and there actually a few people who listed it, but It seems mostly overlooked to me. I really like it.

Give the band a break.......the world has changed..........listening to an album all the way through doesn't apply anymore........500,000 albums sold in the USA...........not because the album sucked but because you can buy individual songs and play what appeals to you....furthermore....not only are fast forward buttons used.....but so is the "random" button selected more often than not on most CD players...if you are going to criticize the band...do it using modern music listening and buying trends..........the Stones deserve a ton of credit for still being in the game...............and putting out quality material.........

Come one, after 8 years would you really have prefered a 40 minute long album? They made it up to us, as far as the scope is concerned.

I think that there are 14 songs on ABB better than Melody & Cherry Oh Baby.Like I said, nobody can seem to agree on which songs are the sub-par ones.Releasing many b-sides or a limited edition bonus disc (cd) sounds like a good idea.

I don't know anyone that's not listening to ABB cause it's too long........it's personal preference.........if you like a song you hear it again.......and again and again......or you simply listen to something else...........CD's are edited by everyone these days and when you can download music you tend to edit even more.........every one's got the opportunity to be their own DJ............it's just the way it is in 2006

A valid point. Who on earth releases 40 minutes CD's nowadays? Nobody.
I know 6-7 guys that got ABB downloading the whole thing, and they only saved their favorites tunes, about 4-5 songs. It's the same for all the artists.

I like the idea of release the 18 tracks, we can make personal versions of the album, like a "rock version of ABB":
1. Rough Justice
2. It Won't Take Long
3. She Saw Me Coming
4. On No, Not You Again
5. Dangerous Beauty
6. Look What The Cat Dragged In
7. Driving Too Fast
8. Under The Radar
9. Don't Wanna Go Home

or a "mid tempo version of ABB":
1. Let Me Down Slow
2. Rain Fall Down
3. Streets Of Love
4. Back Of My Hand
5. Biggest Mistake
6. This Place Is Empty
7. Laugh, I Nearly Died
8. Infamy

don't forget the "unlistenable crap" version:

1) SOL
2) SOL
3) SOL
4) SOL
5) SOL
6) SOL
7) SOL
8) Look What the Cat Dragged In

9) neocon

yeah, ABB could have been a "better album" w/ a few less songs - but agree w/ the ability to check out all of the songs and decide what I like the best (tighter editing may have been a SF type album?). check out the review for more:
