Hey.....what was the date for the '75 Fort Collins show??? I know it was July but I've heard the 20th and the 21th and Nico's site claims that it was the 19th. I recently acquired the show in a trade also and the person I aquired it from identified it as being from the 19th. Anybody have any definitive info?

Definately the 20th of July. There is a s-l-i-g-h-t possibillity that there was a concert on the day after also, but it's only a guess.
(ticket-stub proves the date July 20th)

I think maybe there could have been 2 shows. Ive seen a picture of Elton John behind the stage from that show and his clothes are completley different.

Funny, seeing as how Who Went To Church This Sunday contains the most searing live version of IORR that I've ever heard

Is that Annie Leibowitz next to EJ off the side?

I don´t think there were two shows in Ft. Collins.

However, I´m pretty certain there were THREE shows in Chicago (July 22, 23 and 24). The Genesis book includes facsimiles of handwritten notes by the tour manager which were given to each crew member before the show. One of them is from July 22 and it clearly states there was a show that day (same for July 23 and July 24). To me, this document proves there was a third show in Chicago. I can´t post it since I don´t have a scanner at the moment (it´s on page 302 for those who have the book...).

Unfortunately there is no such facsimile for the Ft. Collins concert so the date of this show is still unsure. July 20 makes the most sense to me. We have a ticket stub and travelling from Seattle to Denver or Denver to Chicago within one day seems unlikely to me.

Also, that noxious growl that started a lot in Europe/UK '73. The first time I heard it was Albuquerque '72. Just before SV Mick says STOP THAT FEEDBACK in the the growl.

If You Can't Rock Me - Get Off Of My Cloud from LA 7/13/75 is one of the best things The Stones have ever done. Another example is Heartbreaker from LA 7/10/75. And I love the sound and atmosphere on these records.

Ft. Collins was Sunday 20 July. They played Seattle July 18th, the 19th was a travel day, the 21st I was connecting from Seattle to Houston at Stapleton airport in Denver and bought every newspaper I could that had reviews of the Ft. Collins concert (they are featured in Jean Marie Moreau's commerative tour book). Contrary to the C2C release the Ft. Collins show was *************NOT*************** July 19th.

In my very personal opinion, the 1975 tour is the best drugged out, ragged sex crazy rock and roll tour ever held by any band. It's total extravaganza. Musically it's brilliant in all its sloppiness. Best thing of the tour is the groove, always slow and breeding ready to explode. I love that tour. The 1976 tour is the only tour I don' like that much, and that's mainly because they took some of the highlight songs out of the '75 set and replaced them with lesser songs.

Mathjis I agree but in 1976 they did Hot Stuff which was a real live gem thanks to the Glimmers singing and their groove. But yes, Gimmie Shelter sounded great in 1975, love that phaser on Keiths guitar and Billy's synthesizer. And despite the show being the best ever by any band, true, they did in fact overall play better in 1972, Midnight Rambler 1972 is so great and it didnt work in 1975. And the fanfare for the common man. The stage, The band. Keith. Mick. IFYCRM. SFTD.

75 was an embarassment. Keith was on auto-pilot,jagger humping billy preston and swinging on a rope, lousy songs, and an inflatable penis!
