During the Rio movie and the Forum show, I noticed Mick has verbally distanced himself from the Rambler character.

When did this start??

Well the last 2 times I've heard this live he used the first person, no distancing. In the original the lyrics are " HE don't give a hoot of warning, wrapped up in a black cat coat" and later he switches to " And if you ever catch the Midnight Rambler, I'LL steal you mistress from under your nose" so that's the way I've heard it the last 2 times, includng Radio City. It's Always been " Listen and you'll hear HIM moan" so I guess Mick mixes the first and third person and that's what has caused some confusion.

Used "He" the three times I saw it on this tour Denver, Montreal, Las Vegas.

Also if you look at the four flicks DVD, MSG show-its "He" as well.

Yes but that's not Mick changing original lyrics! The lyrics from LET IT BLEED say " HE" but then change to "I" in cetain places as I indicated. It's ALWAYS been " He don't give a hoot of warning".
