Love Is Strong - I remember when WBCN premiered it - the first 5 seconds blew me away. It sounded totally classic yet completely fresh. Forgot how much I loved this until they pulled it out at MSG.

Sparks Will Fly - the Keith/Charlie interplay - killer

I Go Wild - Charlie's drums and Mick's lyrics & delivery, especially the last verse.

a tough choice, as VL is an excellent album.

i guess id go with:

1) moon is up
2) love is strong
3) you got me rocking

special mention goes to Jump On Top Of Me, which was squandered as a B-side release.

Love is Strong
I Go Wild
Baby Break it Down (when I hear this one it stays it my head for a long time - don't know why)
I think VL is about the same as the last 4 studio albums - good but not great. I don't understand why so many rate this so highly. I like Steel Wheels better - I know, I am one of the few.

I love the whole f--ing album. It's one of my favorites!

Ah...

Steel Wheels had some great live songs. Sad Sad Sad, Rock and a Hard Place and Mixed Emotions (to a lesser extent) were brilliant live. Slipping Away has just been superb on the last couple of tours.

Voodoo lounge was also great live. Sparks Will Fy, I Go Wild, Love is Strong, YGMR, The Worst, Out of Tears.

BTB also had some great moments.. Out of Control well... Let's not even go into Thief in the Night

strange how much people like love is strong when i also see a lot of comments on the bad lyrics

i think we've just come to accept the bad lyrics. post tattoo you, inspired lyrics have been harder and harder to come by. ABB, an album which I really like, is particularly disgraceful lyrically. (Streets of Love may be the worst Stones song EVER lyrically)

The lyrics (on LIS) arent that bad (although Sparks Will Fly makes them read like they're something off Blonde on Blonde) - but what grabs you is that harmonica - it was great to hear that so prominent on a Stones single for the first time in ages. It more than makes up for any misgivings about lyrical content

After a couple of albums where the first single you heard didnt exactly make you punch the air with delight, to hear a radio DJ introduce the upcoming record as "the first airing of the new Rolling Stones single" and then hear that drum roll, mean guitar and wailing harmonica on a good rootsy rocker was a real treat.

Remember hearing it being played on Virgin radio and a mate phoning me at work - knowing instinctively I'd be listening to it - and triumphantly shouting down the phone "Harmonica! Listen to that fĂșckin' harmonica!"

It is amazing to look back and think about the first time I heard Love Is Strong. I had a pretty similar reaction. The harmonica really makes the song. LIS was the first new Stones song that had really grabbed me like that since Start Me Up.

I liked Anybody Seen My Baby and Flip The Switch when they came out, but not on that level. The next time that happened was with ONNYA live at the press conference last May, then when Rough Justice leaked onto the internet.

So so true--such a great tune. To me, the thing about the lyrics, is that Mick delivers them in a sort of tongue-in-cheek fashion which makes it really funny and very cool.

Top three
1) Love Is Strong
2) Baby Break It Down
3) Out Of Tears (I am guessing by it's absence not many people like it but I think it is really great)
