Hey hey;
"Why are we fighting... ?"
"Hey! Man, look! Look: We're splittin'man, if those cats stop beatin' people up... I want them out of the way, man... "
"Hey people! Come on, Let´s be cool.
People, please. People, there´s no reason to hustle anyone..."
"If ya move back and sit down... "

Are the Stones greedy bastards? YES.
Do we love them? YES.

Not that angry, I just don't like trolls like yourself. You write inflammatory posts on a fan site and then wonder why people challenge you on them, What did you expect? blank statements that the stones sound like "bat shit" should retire. are inflammatory on a bands fan web site in my opinion and you probably knew as well you were going to get flamed for it, so don't start crying foul now.

I can understand people not wanting them to have played the Superbowl in the first place, but now that they have done, I cant see why theres a fuss about a DVD being released of it

Isnt there one released of EVERY Superbowl - and if so, doesnt this normally include the half time show?

The DVD is released by the NFL, not the Rolling Stones. I assume the NFL own the rights to any commercial release of the Stones' performance.

And what's wrong with posting that ??

Are you another clown who wants to see your beloved band continue along to a slow and painful death ??

Let's think for a moment...

Inflammatory post: a post is inflammatory for anybody because of his/her burning ability, IMO.

If someone posts "The Stones suck" it could be inflammatory for some people here.
If someone posts "The Stones nowadays are the best incarnation of the band ever" can be as inflammatory as the former for many people here (perhaps for more people, even)

Where the @#$%& is the old "Leit Motiv" of this board: "Everybody loves different Rolling Stones" ??

Hey, I don't care if people have critical comments about the Stones. But this one is strange, there's no argumentation, and none of the things he says make sense, and allot of stuff is incorrect or incomplete. Check my earlier post to see what I mean.

Yep, mate, but anyway "There'll be no wedding today", so I'm sorry. Would you be a "substitute for another guy" if Meggie asked you for??. Please, don't. Be strong, pal... Look for another farm where to work...

Esky, are you telling us that everyone who appreciates the Stones today, their album and their performances, is a "clown"??? Do you think you can offend us and more than 5 million people who will see the Stones on this tour? Are you trying to cover up the defectiveness of arguments being scurrilous and provoking? Ridiculous @#$%&, you are absolutely unable to make a feint of a "fan" successfuly. You're not even a decent actor, pathetic boy.

Do you think someone who calls others something innocent as a clown is to be called a m*therf*cker?

Esky is a long time member to the board and a fan of certain Stones, as they were maybe. Much more than a feint imo.

Now stop it, people.

One again, Gazza nails it. The only recent Superbowl DVD that didn't have the halftime show was 2003 - and that was due to Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction.

Limbostone and Auster, sorry, but your sensibilty is a bit belated. If Esky has the right to offend others calling them as "clowns", everyone has the right to offend him too. Not because of his opinions (besides what "opinions"? This guy speaks aphorestically only...). Because of his bitterness against the fans who have different opinions. I suppose noone here has more or less rights than the others. And that's that. Good afternoon guys.

Hi guys!

Why dont you concentrate on your opinions? What do YOU like about the Stones and so on. Don´t pick on Aprils opinon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take a deep breath and think...is he a big threat to you? No, you can think and write what YOU want. Not about April, but things you´d like to say´bout the Stones. See, there´s a relief in that thought. Then you don´t have to get upset.

i doubt there's more people here that find stones pathetic than people that still like them play

it would be hard to call this place a fan site then. This thing of "who is a true fan" has an objective bottom line. There's plenty of "nostalgic" or archivistic web sites about music of the 60's or the stones themselves. Here, this particular stones websites is clearly devoted to the present-day band more than a celebration of their carrer (you don't log here to find detailed info about sessions in 1964 you go somewhere else)

so there's some sense in the fact that hating the present-day stones is somehow paradoxical in regularly attending this place. Motivation?

I won't ban or censor anyone, but it's funny how some people here in the first place make posts that sound passionate in their "critique" or derogation - like they feel it very much - then they put on this cool attitude, like "calm down you people everyone is entitled...etc"

I guess a vehement "accuse" ask for a vehement "defense".

In the end, the whole argument of this thread is curious, but Gazza already answered to that in a way I subscribe.

I don't see it that way. The News section and most of the website can be devoted to the present day, but the Tell Me Forum is devoted to the Stones in general, past, present and future.

Maybe hating is a word way too strong. Many people here ("The Classic Ones") listen to Stones works prior to '81, while other follow the post-Steel Wheels Stones. But I doubt anybody posting here really "hates" the Stones.

Gazza uses to be right, but I'd say he is an active member of the "Modern Stones Critical Section" grinning smiley

He is saying that they are a 'pathetic circus' if they do shows like that, just to make money in a somewhat (for him) unusual and inappropriate context.

It's an opinion.

He didn't say he hated the band or wasn't a fan, (did he?)

But if he says they're a pathetic circus band and he's a fan of it what does that make him? A pathetic circus boy?

hey esky,do you really mean that the stones is so bad these days?setlist could have been changed more often, but that bad,are you really serious?

Re: Stones on Superbowl DVD = pathetic

Oh, perhaps I misunderstood him. I thought he meant that by doing shows like the superbowl they were becoming a circus band. I didn't think he meant in general.

Anyway, i don't think he would want to attend such a show. So, no, it doesn't make him a pathetic circus boy.

I saw the Stones in '76 and to me, then, they had become a circus act. Not pathetic, but rather off-track and slightly ridiculous. I understand his feelings. (They got back on track in '78).
