I don't listen at work because I work with people who like easy listening stuff. Sigh. I have worked out a compromise with them, they don't play their music and I don't play mine. It's the only way to keep everyone happy.

I'm with you though on only listening to music I know by heart when I want to use it as background music, while reading, playing on the computer at home, etc. If I try to listen to new stuff and do something else I get frustrated because I keep missing parts of the song. When I listen to new music, I like to really concentrate on it and absorb it.

I listen to the Stones about every other day. Sometimes every day, sometimes I go a few days without, never more than a week. Stones music must be taken in frequent doses and played LOUD!

Hey OhNo..

You can't do headphones at work? Easy listening is torture, so it's nice that you all came to an agreement.

What nice is that since everyone emails all the time, I hardly ever need to use the phone, so having HPs on isn't a problem at all. I just keep my phone near me so I can see the lights flash. Plus, it makes people less inclined to stop by your desk and start chatting.

Bro, I guess you see that we caused a lot of controversy (unintentionally, of course) with the other post (luckiest break). Just trying to keep up with ohno.smiling smiley

Seriously, I came to the defense of both you and ohno, as good friends and knowledgable fans. Think it was all a big misunderstanding on both post.

Sadly, no. Too much of my job involves working as a "team" with other people and conversing with them. I have a computer/technology related job and thought when I started that most of my communication would happen by e-mail. Wrong!

I do close my door at lunch and rock out then, so at least I don't have to go the whole work day without a dose of good music.

And you know what that means. Let the good times roll for me, you, and little manuel.

Does it have to be little Manuel again? He always cries when I bring out my clown suit. Let's bring Pepe instead.

you're killing me again CindyC...

Hey I told that joke to a friend at lunch yesterday about the man and boy going into the woods. We rolled on the floor and laughed til we cried. Honestly, that was one of the funniest I've heard in years. I can't wait to tell it again.

Hi Cindy!
Most of the people here don't walk outside the fences that surounds our village. But I've got a very big (and strong) friend, and we go outside every day, to catch polar-bears or wild elks. We use a boomerang, produced by a local craftman. If we get close to the animals, we use our own hands only. And each evening the whole village gathers around a big "fire", where we barbeque our catch of the day. Lots of beer too. We also showel snow, and sell fur to tourists. Or rob them if they can't speak Norwegian.

It's all in the delivery, cirrhosis, or actually, with this joke, it's probably more important that you tell it to a pervert who likes sick humor, otherwise it bombs. Maybe your audience just wasn't ready for it. Don't give up. Try again with a different crowd.

Ack!!! Ok, I have to stop with this now. I'm looking at a picture of my little boy and it's freaking me out that there really are people out there like that. I'm sorry cirrhosis, you are going to have to find another business partner.

But I do admire your "can do" attitude. And I think the writing big checks now bit is really smart. First impressions are everything after all with fuzzy underwear coming in at a close second.

Lukester, glad you liked the joke! I actually have something that you will find really hysterical, but I don't want to post it here. Can you send me your email address?

Now we're all curious, CindyC. Is it off color or nakedness (I'm not suggesting you're nakedness so don't be offended.)

Certainly not nakedness on my part, I'm 40!!! I wouldn't want to gross you all out! Hehehe

But I tell you what, I'll email it to Luke and if he feels it is fit to post, that can be his decision.

I'm like you JJ. I bet you were listening to them 24/7 leading up to the Chicago shows.

I wish it was like I wrote.
Actually, everything is very normal here. And it's not so cold as you would think, I swim in the ocean every summer. A few people fish or have cows, but 98% works with.....I don't know, the same as everybody else in the world.
When it comes to spare time, some of us go out in the woods, or out on the sea. I often go crosscountry-skiing, or fishing in waters in the mountains. Plenty of wild nature.

That's not playing in my small town. I'm considering the 2 hour (road trip) drive to asheville to see it, though.

I feel the pressure...no problemo.

However, if you don't hear from me in a few hours it's probably because my sick friend CindyC really did gross me out badly. In that event could someone please contact 911 in Boone NC and tell them there's a catatonic Stones fan twitching from fright and drooling on his keyboard, risking electrocution.

Catheter jokes are hit or miss. Maybe you just need to stick to sure things like midget jokes to get your confidence back.

I'm back. I'm not twitching or drooling, but that's not to say I haven't suffered some kind of trauma. Folks, CindyC is one very sick, twisted, little girl. She has some severe emotional problems that possibly could be corrected with months of intense therapy, perhaps combined with some experimental electro shock treatments. Now I'm not saying anything to you all that she and I haven't already discussed. When I received her email, after I recovered from the shock and embarrassment, I reached out to her in a caring, friendly kind of way. I think she understands that she needs help, and I've already given her a list of therapists in her city that are specialists with her kind of sickness. Right now she's going to need a lot of understanding and caring from the rest of us. She specifically mentioned being disurbed by cirrhosis so it may be best that you not talk to her for a few days, cirrhosis. Erik_Snow, you seem to have a calming effect on her so I encourage you to try to reach out to her.

I'd like to share with the rest of you the really sick things she sent me in the email, but that would be really irresponsible on my part, and I just thank god that she was thoughtful enough to run them by me first.

y'all have a nice day.
