1972 in an avalanche. No other year comes even remotely close. Greatest album by the greatest band followed by their greatest tour. I will not tolerate any dissent on this.

'78 - 'some girls' did it for me! Summer after high school, not a care in the world, good times a'plenty - 'some girls' still brings me right back to that summer.

Mmmmm, let my think... The greatest rock'n'roll record ever followed by the Mother-of-All-Tours... 1972 maybe?

1978
--even though I wasn't even into them yet--based on recordings and video archives--bad ass modern urban grit punks--the last year they were actually cool.

Come on T, I took this thread as your favorite year YOU WERE A PART OF. If it was boots or albums obviously it would be different. There's nothing worse than getting into them at the worst time and waiting 7 years to see them live! Cut a bro some slack. Just don't literally cut a bro!

1971 in Nellcote, and/or 1972 with EOMS and the tour.

That wasn't my take on the intent of the thread, but if that's what you thought then you are excused. 1989 was a good year only inasmuch as it was a comeback year after a long hiatus.

The year following the release of Sticky Fingers.... was prolly mid 71 to mid 72

If that is the ctriteria then I totally agree with the above--for a yrs (85-88) I was convinced the band was history--I was (pleasantly) shocked when I heard about Steel Wheels and REALLY shocked when I heard they were going to tour.

They also did a very nice job changing up the set list---I mean, who would have expected "Ruby Tuesday", "Paint it Black" and most of all "2000 Light Years From Home"?

The great thing is: I can´t date a single year, to me
it´s 1965, 1968, 1972, 1978, 1982.

Apart from all the other years where I have seen them and going to see them.

It wasn't THAT tough, TooTough. Sit down, think about it for a minute...and come up with SINGLE Year as though you very life depended on it. Do it.

Can't narrow it down to a year, but a period.

Sticky Fingers to Goat's Head Soup
so 1971 to 1973..gotta include that '73 tour in their as well.

Sticky Fingers cuz it is such a perfect release, followed by the treasure of Exile...the '72 tour when they were the biggest thing on the rock planet..yep even bigger then Zeppelin who didn't start to really peak until 1973 to 1975.

the '73 Euro tour..is so well represented through the boots (Brussels, Frankfurt, & London) it seems that they assembled the best touring band in 1972 and that groove really followed into 1973. Just my opinion.

When Chris Kimsey was at the desk: Pather Marconi 1977 until 1983, and the '78 and '81 tours as my favourite tours.

Black & Blue - 1976 - My first real extended period of listening to the band. Going thru my first (of many) heartbreak and my parent's second divorce.

Some Girls - 1978 - Just graduating - girls, partying, Panama City Beach

Tattoo You - 1981 - Great album - First time seeing the band!

2005 - 3 feet from Mick on the small stage for "Get Off Of My Cloud"

All the rest!

1976. Black & Blue great raw sound on that album. I love it! Hand of Fate is a favorite of mine. The guitars on that tour were not too bad either!
