What would it be?

Mick T. leaving the Stones?
Elvis getting in the movie business?
Pete Best leaving the Beatles?
Jimi dying?

- He didn't leave of his own accord.

didnt do his bank balance any harm, which was Parker's main motive. At least he got out of it in time to restore some credibility

> Pete Best leaving the Beatles?

he didnt leave - he was sacked

> Jimi dying?

death is always a good 'career move'

Worst?

Possibly, Bob Neal selling his control over Elvis to Colonel Tom Parker for $35,000 (not a small sum for an unknown artist, but in hindsight...not good business)

That guy at Decca (was it Dick Rowe?) who turned down a certain band from Liverpool because "beat groups are on the way out" must have woken up in a few cold sweats ever since...but at least he didnt make the same mistake a year later with the Stones.

it hardly ruined his life or crippled his bank balance though, did it?

At least he could change his mind anytime

IMO he did the right thing

Axel Rose for just being himself.

Maybe his account wasn't hurt but he lost a lot of money that he would have earned.

Besides his solo career is nothing to get excited about.

Drummers are replaceable as history has shown. With that statement by no means am I suggesting the Bonham did not mean a lot to the band. But the show must go on.

How about Terry Reid turning down Jimmy Page to be the lead singer in his "new"
group?? Robert Plant was more than happy to be the 2nd choice.

Can't blame Mick Taylor, he needed to leave when he did.
But wouldn't it be nice for an invite back, just for one night!!!!!!

Peter Frampton apearing with the Bee Gee's in the film SPLHCB
The Sex Pistols firing Glen Matlock and replacing him with a junkie who could not play the bass at all.

J. Geils band for turning down Woodstock (not really what I think as the worst choice ever...but a fun factoid).

John Fogerty signing with that scum-bag S.Zantz/Fantasy Records.........the legal entanglements from that scam prevented him from playing his own songs live

If Jimi Hendrix was still alive he wouldn't be on nr. 1 in all those guitar top 100's. His death was his best career move.

LK, what great music did we miss during those years J. C. Fogerty was fighting legal battles? The thought makes me sick. Saw him in 2004 in Atlanta - the single best musical event I've ever seen. I've pretty much seen 'em all during my era, but that was tops!

And, yeah, Pete Best didn't leave the Beatle by choices. Is Ringo the luckiest mofo ever or what?

yeah Elmo...Zantz robbed Forgerty & the fans..........last night i was listening to CCR "The Concert"..........their version of Night Time is the Right Time is killer............hard to touch Fogerty's pipes on that version......sorry Mick, it's the truth

Fogerty had a long battle with Fantasy Records/ Saul Zaentz over the publishing rights to the CCR catalog. I'm not sure if he wasn't allowed to play those songs or he just refused to. Finally in the early 90's he started playing them live again. It's too bad he doesn't get along with his former bandmates.

The sad thing about the Chris Gains idea was that Americans were too dumb to understand it.

Worst Idea: Can't remember his name, but the guy who died playing Russian Roulette.

Josh
