>Question: From a dear friend in Belfast, Ir. when will you be back over to play?

>Keith Richards: Belfast…as soon as you got the space ready for us. I love Ireland, North and South. To me, Ireland is Ireland, the troubles are all over, pal. I'll put that to the band. It's not something I can answer straight up myself. I tell you what, I wouldn't mind going back.

hmmmm...I wonder who asked Keith THAT question? smiling smiley

Still waitin', Keef!

Neilly - cynical bastard that I am, I never really expected it

Mind you, this was November 1998. At that stage it was still hoped we would get the full scale UK theatre tour in June 1999 that the band promised as a bit of comfort to us when they postponed the UK stadium shows in June 1998 ("10-12 shows in small venues, including many cities the band havent played in for over 20 years")..I think, at the time, I was kinda trying to drop Keith a subtle hint...

of course, the only 'extra' show they added in the UK was in that city that they never play (!) - London - and they added 7 outdoor shows on the continent instead of the promised UK shows.

In that case, the question I'd like to ask him would be would he let Mick fúck Patti so that he can maybe be inspired to write something as good again?

hell, if THATS what it takes - great writers often have to suffer to create great art...

Gazza, would they get a good crowd if they came to Belfast? Whats the support for them like? Did'nt Rod the Mod play Belfast last year I seem to remember when I was over there. Was that well attended?

they would get a good crowd so long as they didnt charge £150 a ticket!

We have a good indoor venue (The Odyssey - recently voted as one of the top 6 concert venues in the world along with the one the Stones played in San Juan last weekend) - although that wasnt opened until 2000 - after I asked Keith that question.

I think Rod Stewart sold out 3 shows there last year - he kept adding shows at various points on his tour due to public demand. I think the top price was £65, though. Itd be hard to shift many £150 tickets in a country of 1.7 million people though although its now an easy place to get to from mainland UK. Artists of Rod's era sell well, so with sensible ticket prices the Stones could do the same..after all they sold out 2 shows in Dublin in 2003 (in a smaller arena) in about 6 minutes

Last time they played here was September 1965 (as seen in 'Charlie is my darling'). Was hopeful we'd get to see them this time if they did arena shows but I doubt the Stones will do an indoor tour in the UK ever again unfortunately

I'd ask him: "Do you have the Dallas '72 rehearsals?"
I'm a bit obsessed at the moment.

Keith should do an online session more often

Re: One question for Keith Richards
Posted by: Gazza ()

if youve ever sat in on one of those sessions, youd probably think otherwise

Theyre absolute chaos, with people typing conversations between themselves, the whole thread is usually a nightmare to follow as the answers come through about a minute (and therefore several conversations) after the relevant question, and the answers are invariably glib, flippant throwaway responses of no value whatsoever

The one Linda posted above reads pretty coherently. When you see the live transcripts, they're insane!

Cosmoprim; would ya have more pix in that style?

Re: One question for Keith Richards

I should post up the one of Mick Jagger.

I don't know why, Yet I saved them for so long. I guess its about 1998? So, Almost 10 yrs. They are a good read though. Yes, I can't imagine sitting there, Yet I can imagine Keith puffing away on some fags and just answering questions. No need for them to type.....

Who did you pay to have Brian killed. Also, what did you do with his demo recordings of his new band with Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon.

Do you mean more pictures of armed New Orleans musical legends?
Unfortunately, no.
I wish I had a picture of the Fat Man lobbing hand grenades or Professor Longhair wielding a machete.

I got to ask him two questions already!

He was on Rockline, that radio show where listeners get to call in and ask questions. He did it for both TIC and MO. I somehow got threw both times. It was so exciting to hear him saying my name. I have them both on tape.

It sucked though cuz they screen your questions, and they wouldn't let you ask anything really good. I ended up making up something polite off the top of my head, I was so afraid they were going to hang up on me!

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

So, CindyC, I'm guessing it would have been inappropriate to ask him if he got his eyes full from that photo with you and him and he's looking down at... well, you know which photo I'm talking about.

I'm joking, as usual.

Inappropriate is my middle name
