Nothing like the Stones - but Chris Rea......

...put out an 11 CD set of NEW material late '05 with a DVD on the creation of such an opus. In an A4 sized hardcover 70 page booklet. For about $60US I'd reckon ($110 Aussie)

Now, I OWN no other Chris Rea album, and have always thought this guy to be a bit of a lightweight.

It's called Blue Guitars, and it's a history of the Blues. THIS IS A PROJECT, A WORK of PURE GENIUS THOUGH....

128 NEW songs created and recorded on a 24/7 18 month recording binge.

Read some reviews here:

And then see if you can find it. Discs 3,4,7,8,9,10,11 are SPECTACULAR. This guy can play a guitar, no question....

1. Beginnings
2. Country Blues
3. Louisiana & New Orleans
4. Electric Memphis Blues
5. Texas
6. Chicago
7. Ballads
8. Gospel Soul & Motown
9. Celtic & Irish
10. Latin
11. The 60s and 70s

Do youself a favor...

The Road to Hell is fine, fine album. The man plays a nasty slide. His songs remind of some 80's-era Dire Straits....

I always thought the song "Road to Hell" was Dire Straits.

Leonard Cohen has a song of the same name, too.

actually sounds like a good title for a Stones tune, now that I think about it
