First U2 uses a b-stage then the stones follow u2 uses a stage with people in the middle and the Stones follow
There was a great article in Rolling Stone where they asked Bono what he thought of the Stones copying their B-stage idea and had he ever talked to jagger about it. Bono said he never mentioned it because Jagger could point out about 10 things they stoled from the Stones.

Yeah Pedro 99. Think of something creative and new. BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH. Let's drop this copying thing once and for all. Let's talk about how U2 sucks instead. Oh we did that already? Sorry.

Then Bono makes a complete and utter tit of himself on the world stage by playing the rock star politician, and the Rolling Stones quite sensibly do not follow his lead. Get real - please !!

These really are some stupid people who actually think the Stones are copying everyone. They have been around 44 years & still doing stadium shows...copy that! Everyone just takes shots at em b/c they're the best. Folks like Pedro just yap b/c he can't accept that the Stones are the best band ever & whatever teeny bob crap he likes isn't. These threads are quite boring though...I'd like to see em tossed.

I can't agree with you more!! Everybody looks at THE STONES as the benchmark and pinnacle. Pedro please don't post anymore. Your're sooooo boring.

U2 started using the bstage in 1992 for their Zoo TV tour. It's been documented that Mick attended their August 28, 1993 Dublin concert where he would have seen the bstage being used. As for 1997, Mick himself stated that he went to their April 28 show in San Diego while the Stones were recording Bridges in L.A. and that he liked their usage of the bstage.
It's really irrelevant who used it first though. It's not a contest between the Stones, U2 and the Beatles/Macca, like many Stones fans seem to think and get all uptight about it. U2 and the Stones have both used the bstage to great effect, making their shows better for their respective fans. That is all that matters.
Uh sorry for copying B-stage.Oh man if this is not stealing then what is it? Why not artists take an idea and make it better? The tongue-shaped stage is the coolest ever made, I think. Beacuse you mention it.I watch on TV a video clip from U2 on a moving truck going down on a road playing for people on the street. The stones has done the same for other reasons from in 1975 right>Can this be considered stealing??Does the stones stole the idea from somewhere else?
Charlie said they got the idea of the flatbed truck thing from old jazz artists
But, like you say, artists take ideas from each other and make it better or develop it further. lets face it, most things have been tried by now...there isnt much room for originality
Haven't U2 "copied" the Beatles roof-top-concert. I can remember even the Simpsons made a joke about it. Everything has been done in the music-world, it's HOW you do it that seperates the clint from the wheat. (is "clint" an English word, I hope so)
Very little snow here. Haven't been skiing for 4-5 weeks. It's the strangest winter I've witnessed. Must be the global heating! But blowing; yes. Have you got that expression in Sweden, Baboon? The clint-stuff? I wonder how to say that in English?
"Sålla agnarna från vetet". "Separate the wheat from the chaff"(?) But I think the global heatin is overestimated; right now professionally studying climate statistics from the 1720s; and the 1930s is by far the warmest decade sofar; but warm periods have occured ever since statistics started. The Viking Age was also warm; not to mention Stone Age... Still; take a walk or go on ski instead of drivin your @#$%& car... It´s better in so many ways...
We´ve had a thick snow cover, then rain for three days, most of it melted away, but now o good portion is back and it keeps snowin. -20 C for three days till yesterday in the meantime.
("I know plenty of better sites if you+´re into weather")

Duude, Bono said that they copied a hell of a lot more from the stones. So he is imlying that it is ridiculous to compare such stuff. He is only complementing the stones.
