Hey autodog,
I didn't read this post until this morning (Monday). On my way out of Vegas, now penniless, I sought shelter in the public library here to get a few hours sleep and to check my emails. I begrudgingly got back onto this Stones site to see if autodog was gloating about tricking everyone into believing that JJF was the 3rd song on the setlist. Until I read this timely correction, I was sure that I had fallen victim to some malicious prank by a stranger named autodog. The problem is, I didn't read this correction until this morning, 18 hours after I had bet all the equity in my home, my retirement money, my baseball card collection, and, unless I can somehow find a way to hide my daughter in a foreign convent, my first born child on the wrong setlist. Oh well, I should have known; there's no such thing as a sure thing.

Come on, that US TV is full of violence and "fear of everything" news
and you can understand they cut out two @#$%& words? W o r d s?

Schizophrenia.

well the broadcast on european channel ARD and ORF where not censured, why would they anyway? Our youngster know more "dirty words" than we do anyway.

Bye the way is there a agelimit to buy the stones records in the US ?

Are they being censored on the radio as well? Or don't American kids listen to the radio?

most of them wouldnt even know what it meant or wouldnt have listened close enough...its an innocuous word that can have more than one meaning. That song is played in radio stations hundreds of times a day in the US at a time when families are listening, and its played at countless sports events too over the PA. Yet suddenly because its the Super Bowl its offensive all of a sudden?

and "cocks" in the context of "Rough Justice" is a double entendre, not an expletive

Absolutely ludicrous. What year is this? 1937? Still, maybe we should be thankful they didnt censor the line "trying to make some girl" on 'Satisfaction' like they did when they played it on "Shindig" in 1965. That would have been all 3 songs censored. Its good to know civilization has progressed so much in 41 years that people are no longer outraged at such wanton filth, eh?

At 9:30 PM Eastern Time on Comedy Central. A funny show, I might add.

South Park is on at midnight on regular (non-cable) TV in Chicago

Of course they agree. Part of the deal. And really, who cares? It's still rock'n roll. And if you want to get every song 100% - not just 3 but 20 or s - this band is actually on tour now...

As Mick Jagger said about the 1965 bleeping of Satisfaction:

"It doesn't really matter you know, first it's a washing machine, then it's a soap powder and then it's you."

And I guess they really don't care a lot since it's a one time thing and the US is the only country where they have to agree to silly little rules like this.

Just stay in Europe next fall and take the new stage with you. You can swear all you want here. It isn't even swearing what you are doing anyway.

This is ridiculous for s.o. living outside the us:
A country with such high rates of drug and alcohol addicts, people sleeping with their 44 under their pillows, with a not even elected president, who only won because the election was partially faked by family members, and sends its soldiers into hell for years just for oil and this so-called freedom...

Regarding that a censorship of "come" and "cox" is just prudish, hypocritical and ridiculous.

Bush was elected properly the 2nd time though. THe problem is that the same people who sleep with a .44 under their pillow and "voted" for Bush are the ones offended by the Stones. So it's a small miracle that the situation isn't worse after all.

I must agree here with my European friends. My country the USA is so trying to be politically correct it is sickening.I have traveled all over the world and only in the USA and some of the Middle Eastern countries do you see so much censorship. We put 500 killings and day on TV but censor cum and cock.GIVE ME A BREAK.If you do not want your kids to hear it lock them in their rooms till they go to high school or college. The let them out so they can go completey wild.We have a lot of freedoms here but at the same time we are losing more and nore every day.I got it lets play some gangsta rap and listen to the words.Censor that and you would have a blank CD.

America's obsession with freedom has made us a most absurd country. I know we're not supposed to be political, but everyone's "freedom" to not be offended is actually robbing us of a great deal of freedom. We are totally on the brink of absurdity here. The rest of the world looks at us like we look at Hollywood, we are the blonde bimbo of the world. That's it for politics from me, and now...
