I was there...they rocked...they even had the "stereotypical football fans" rocking only seconds after they started, as I posted before. Even the rest of the game was a little "ho hum" for awhile after they left the field. And I am a Steeler fan (although not "stereotypical")
"Winners: The Rolling Stones. Yes, we would have preferred Eminem, Kid Rock or even some Motown – something from the rich musical history (or present) of Detroit. A 62-year-old rock star from England is a bit unnerving. But here's why the Stones still rock..."
I notice this "rock star from England". Well, i thing the Stones are Super Bowl Winners beating a kind of sectional (or even national?) prejudices...

Sticky...i think that was the writer's point...the controversy in Detroit over non-Motowners headlining the 1/2time show was vanquished by the Stones.

Ah yes..the "planted crowd" in which initially I was "too old to paticipate!" *@*(&$*&)*&!)*(#&#$^%**...but I digress..... many people here in the area in which the Super Bowl was held auditioned and were on the "planted crowd" College cheerleaders, a group of self-proclaimed "desparate housewives" from Bowling Green, Ohio and the like. The stadium crowd was into it much more than you could wee on TV and it did my heart proud.....for the three short songs the Stones did, I exchanged my gold "Terrible Towel (do you know what they are?) for a kind of Stones Tongue banner no one else had one of those of course...that I could see anyway. Unfortunately, it seemed as if they were just warming up and "one look" it was over!
