The awful truth is Keith NEVER did quit his heroin addiction. He was seen yesterday injecting hardcore drugs during the preparations for Superbowl in Detroit. It's also believed that Keith ate a whole bag of "Mr Salty" pretzels before doing JJF.
Yes, and he didnt quit in 1977-78 at all, he continued to use the drug for a couple of years according to all incliduing himself but Im not sure when he quit jsut that it was probably the begining of 1980.
Yeah - he talked about sampling it again in '97 in a Q Magazine "Cash For Questions" thing, where he answers fan mail. He said it didn't really do it for him. I remember pretty shocked by the fact that he still dabbled and and that he was so open about it.
I was watching Hail Hail Rock and Roll the other day and Keith looks really high on something during the interviews. Not when he is playing, but during the interviews. That was not just alcohol. He kind of has that heroin slur in his voice, but that can stay with people even if they haven't used in a while. I would venture to say he was still dabbling w/ H even in 1986.

I know, remeber that bit, that is probably heroin, maybe he had a sniff or something. He's probably dabbled with it. Noone just quits and stays clean forever.
There was an interview somewhere and they asked Keith about how knackered he looked in the Hail Hail interview and he said something like...Fair go pal I'd just spent a couple of hours under the spots that were glowin' at about 150c
He took cocaine during dirty works sessions in paris. Ronnie too. Don't forget, Charlie was addicted at this moment. Some dealers were around them. When you saw keith and ronnie running out the studio at 2 A.M., running around the block with the temperature near zero, and wearing only a shirt, this is not chocolat powder. But keith can take all he wants, by all his holes, I just ask him to play correctly brown sugar intro.
