While it did put the Stones in a bad position having to replace Taylor thank god he quit because they have always been better with Ronnie Wood he is so so much better then Tayor ever was.

One wonders if Mick Taylor would have remained rail thin had he stayed with the Stones instead of looking like Bip The Michelin Man.

The worst thing they ever did was getting rid of Dick Taylor. Never been the same since.

Mick Taylor would be thin as a skeleton as he be eaten by the worms by now. I don't believe he'd have survived.

lot of really weight-obsessed people on this site. If its not Aretha Franklin, its Mick Taylor

Kinda strange when so many folks get their knickers in a twist if anyone calls their favourite band old or wrinkly.

No doubt everyone here looks like Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie.

Yeah Mandel post a pic of your big belly or rhino haunches before you spout off. Some people just can't mentally accept that an overweight quitter can still fire tasty licks while the establishment man struggles not to trip over bum notes. I love Woody, and MT, they are from two different planets, but each left their indelible creative mark on the Stones' music. Both wonderful too.

yeah - that fat ol' bastard B.B. King really sucks too, eh? And, Muddy Waters, the Wolf....man, Stones fans really couldn't watch them either, right?

Hey, come on, I saw BB King two years ago for the first time when he was 79 and he was just brilliant, in fact one of the best concerts I've ever attended! Not just because he's an incredible guitar player (while his voice has suffered by age) but because he had a crack band and he's a great entertainer. Even if he plays the same songs every night and the jokes are basically the same he gives you the feeling that he's playing just for that special audience. If the Stones had those qualities they could go on for many years.

In contrast to the relatively short career they've had so far.
