In the words of Keith Richards: "the Beatles opened the door, and the Stones came in and held it open!"

IN reality this where the Beatles followed the Stones. Brian 1st then it was John. So we have Paul on this one.

"they always do stuff a year after we do."

Right, but the Stones did it THEIR way, and all the while.

If you play "She's a Rainbow" backwards, it says..."I buried Brian."

I think Paul should just go back to his castle heard his sheep and be quiet. Maybe he should reflect on how lucky he is. Instead of Bashing the STONES! HE's so envious, and transparent!

Now Paul, who didn't even want to be associated with the Beatles, is using them for a popularity contest! What a JERK!

He has a lot of nerve. Here's a guy who's still talking about the Beatles like they are still in exixtence. They were only a band for what? 9 years? Big deal!

Yea, the Beatles were HUGE, still very important and much appreciated, but they aren't a band anymore Paul! Remember??? YOU QUIT! You Pansy!!

NO Paul the STONES haven't followed the Beatles, cause if they did, they'd have quit a 'year after the Beatles'like you claim they did everything else after them... they didn't copy that did they? Nope! Cause they have SO MUCH MORE TO OFFER!!

The STONES are Still RECORDING AND PLAYING, GREAT Rock and BLUES, the stuff they are MADE OF and Stayed TRUE TO, UNLIKE YOU PAULY!

Come on, that Ebony and Ivory CRAP! You know that song is a JOKE don't you?

And all that Garbage with Michael Jackson!?! Did you hang around with Michael because you wanted to GLEEN of of his popularity at the time? IT would seem so!! Then you allowed him to buy out the Beatles Song Catalog?

Are you that desprate Paul that you are trying to adhear yourself to the Beatles again?

As far as copying the Beatles, the Beatles are POP!
Stones are ROCK/BLUES. If I wanna hear something sweet, I'll listen to the Beatles, If I wanna hear something REAL I will listen to the STONES, that is why I ALWAYS LISTEN TO THE STONES!

Of course IMO the ONLY two Beatles who EVER MATTERED are now GONE.God Rest their Beautiful Souls.

Paul has always just been a crybaby if you ask me.

Oh and one more thing... The STONES have been asked a couple of times PRIOR to Paul to play at the Super Bowl, they TURNED IT DOWN, Why are they doing it now? BECAUSE, as Mick said a couple of day's ago, while interviewing on one of the Sports Channels...We're on tour in the States, so we figure why not!

Rock ON ROLLING STONES WE LOVE YOU!!

After John's sad departure, I remember some time after Mac wanted to change the Beatles songs to McCartney/Lennon. I rest my case.

Re: McCartney's Take on Stones Doing Superbowl

98 % of the songs they wrote separately so they where not really a close band at all the last 4 records sound they where 3 solo artist.
Just change history and remove both names and give the credit to who it wrote.

As far as I know the writter of the tune came first and then the one wrote the lyrics.

So in most cases it should be Richards/Jagger

@ jagger50: Take a close look at the first Beatles singles and the first album "Please Please Me": It´s McCartney/Lennon. They changed it later, but with the premise that it could be turned around any time. In fact Paul already used McCartney/Lennon on his Wings Over America album in 1976. Of course John did not protest.

I would imagine that Mia Farrow's sister Prudence (who it was written about, during one of theire sessions with the Maharishi) wasnt a virgin by that stage!

ha ha

I just found this Mick Jagger quote from 1984 on [www.timeisonourside.com] :

"I was doing some overdubs with Peter (Townshend) in London, and Paul was working on (Give My Regards to) Broad Street. Actually, it was the disco thing (No More Lonely Nights) he was working on. (He came in with a bottle of cognac). It was my BIRTHDAY, that's why! It was really nice. Paul has always been very polite and nice to me. He said, I've never done a disco mix before, and I kind of very patronizingly said, Oh well, WOW! (laughs) I mean it's TRUE, I was doing them in 1978: Miss You with Bob Clearmountain."

In respect to Brian Jones, wasn't he out of the band when he actually died?
If so, technically, no active members of the Stones have died while on duty. Not counting fringe players like Stu...But then again, the Beatles were done for nearly 10 years when Lennon was shot.

Where is ferrante - I miss his post.....

Then I need to post for him.... yawning smiley)

buffoon!!!!

let me tell you what's up.

MICK IS A VOCALIST/PERFOMER....HE IS NOT A TRUE MUSICIAN.

TRUE, HE PLAYS GUITAR ON MISS YOU....BUT IS IT REALLY NECESSESARY FOR HIM TO PLAY? IT DOESN'T improve THE SONG, BUT HE IS ONLY HURTING IT. INSTEAD OF HIM PLAYING THE GUITAR, WHY DOESN'T HE DANCE TO THAT SONG....IT D' BE GETTING THE CROWN MORE INVOLVED......

MICK CAN; T PLAY GUITAR FOR SHIT........ASK HIM TO PLAY BLACKBIRD OR JENNY WREN....

MAMMA MIA...

OR ASK KEITH TO PLAY BACKBIRD, OR JENNY WREN........NOT VERY GOOD.

MICK IS A GREAT PERFORMER, AND AN OKAY SINGER....

MACCA IS THE BEST ROCK AND ROLL SINGER FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS:

EARLY DAYS: KANSAS CITY HEY HEY HEY, LUCILLE, LONT TALL SALLY.

BEATLES MID YEARS: I M DOWN, PAPERBACK WRITER, DRIVE MY CAR

BEATLES PEAK: HELTER SKETLER, BACK IN THE USSR, TAXMAN ( MACCA PLAYS LEAD GUITAR), SGT PEPPERS, THE END, REVOLUTION.

WINGS: LIVE AND LET DIE, JR FARMS, LETTING GO, BEWARE MY LOVE, LET ME ROLL IT, OLD SIAM SIR, SPIT IN ON, VENUS AND MARS/ROCK SHOW.

SOLO: COMING UP, RINSE THE RAINDROP, LONELY ROAD, ABOUT YOU.

THERE YOU GO...THOSE ARE JUST SOME OF THE EXAMPLE OF HOW HARD MACCA CAN ROCK HARDER THAN MICK AND COMPANY.

AND MACCA ROCKS HARDER LIVE THAN THE STONES. YOU COULD ASK ANYONE WHO S BEEN TO BOTH SHOWS...AND THEY LL TELL YOU THAT MACCA PUTS ON A BETTER SHOW. NOT THAT THE STONES DON'T PUT ON A GOOD SHOW...IT'S JUST THAT MACCA IT'S SIMPLE THE KING OF THE KINGS.

AND BY THE WAY.......MACCA IS THE TRUE DEFINITION OF ROCK AND ROLL!!!!!!!

Look, y'all. If you've read the histories of these two groups, it's clear they alternately admired each other and sniped at each other from the very beginning, squabbling and kissing and making up like overgrown high school rivals. Some highlights:

1. The Beatles were the source for one of the Stone's earliest songs, I Wanna Be Your Man, happily making a small killing when the song did well.

2. By the late 60s, the groups were openly playing on one another's cuts. Jagger showed up for "All You Need is Love," Keith played bass for John in the Dirty Macs and Brian Jones played sax on "You Know My Name." In turn, Lennon and McCartney sang background on We Love You. Each group placed a coded nod to the other on their albums: On Satanic Majesties, the Beatles peek out of the 3 D haze; on Sgt Peppers, theres a doll wearing a "Welcome Rolling Stones" sweatshirt.

3. At the same time, the groups also mocked each other incessantly. Paul muttered about "Plastic Soul" in a outtakes Jagger reference that turned up years later. John and Mick piled on the sarcasm as they chatted on camera during Rock and Roll circus. Lennon taunted the Stones about following their lead in Dig A Pony ("I rolled a stony, well you can imitate everything you hear...") and openly talked about it in his post-Beatles tell-all interviews. And Jagger was openly blase about the Beatles' influence in his own later interviews...

So one more shot from Mccartney is par for the course. They both tour, make gobs of money, have fans willing to pay small fortunes to follow them around the world and we sit in our homes, churning out more debates over their endless repartee. I say: Who gives a rat's ass as long as they both keep making good music?

I just can't take McCartney seriously, since he's had that
ridiculous face-lift.
The skin's been stretched so much, he looks like he's
got some sort of horrible disease.
He looks like he's melting.
