My list would be (in no particular order) :

1. New York, Nov 28th 1969 - 1st show (complete)
2. Brussels, Oct 17th 1973 - second show (complete)
3. Newcastle, Liverpool etc..1971 show (reportedly includes Sympathy & Wild Horses and perhaps Can't You Hear Me Knocking)
4. Melbourne 17th Feb 1973 - 2nd show (complete)
5. El Mocambo 1977 (complete)

Definetly El Mocambo. But I would add the tribute show to Stu at the 100 Club. In 86. I was sure I had heard a recording of it. But I musdt be wrong..
Then there are some 72 shows, I think Denver.
And 69 Chicago.
But personally I would lovbe to hear more from the 71 UK tour.

1. Marquee 12th July 1962
2. 100 Club 1986
3. El Mocambo 1977 complete (both shows)
4. New York '69
5. 100 Club 1982

throw in Sir Morgans Cove, Worcester, Ma 14.9.81 and Horsehoe Tavern '97 too!

Denver and St. Louis 72 remain unsurfaced, I think.
Anyway, as I'm not a collector (neither a collector-apprentice, for that matter), I'd be quite happy having a Handsome Girls sound quality live recordings of a few shows like Charlotte or Pittsburgh 72, or something from 1970 and 1971...

IMO there's only one real Holy Grail: the MSG '69 soundboards. Compared with later tours there's a flagrant disproportion between the quality of performance and the material we have: still no complete '69 sb. After that Europe '70, GB '71, El Mocambo, etc.

How about the Poll Winners Concert in 1968? FILMED!!!!
Outtakes from Rock and Roll Circus--Route 66 & Confessin' the Blues. FILMED!
Rambler from Nicaraguan Benefit 1973 FILMED!
Entire El Mocambo shows
So many to consider!

See y'all in Bal-mer!

Anything pre-1969 would be my preference although i doubt that there is anything much out there. 1969 - present are all pretty well documented but the Brian Jones era Stones is poorly represented in terms of live recordings.

Gazza, we think alike!

the problem with the Brian Jones-era is that we rely on mostly audience recordings - and these are crap due to the crowd being screaming chicks and the music coming from speakers mounted on walls !

Was listening to a Jefferson Airplane soundboard boot from 1969 - wow !
Hopefully a Stones 1969 soundboard surfaces to sound like this show!!!

ChelseaDrugstore:

I have what I believe is a recording of Chicago 1969. The performance sounds pretty good, but the recording is very poor audience quality. The problem is that the band is simply too far away - you can hear everything, but just barely.

Now, if someone could find Dallas or Auburn '69 (or the second Detroit show, if there was one), those would be real treasures!

These wouldn't be in the "most requested" list (I would put pre-69 stuff on there), but were all the shows taped from Shea Stadium in 1989? I think I've only seen one of the shows around, which is not the one I was at...

yes, all the shows from Shead Stadium 1989 exists on tape/CDr

This one is out, complete. Part is mediocre soundboard with hiss, other part is audience.

I have Auburn 1969 somewhere, didn't VGP release this tape. I know for sure it was sent to them.

It's hard to say which are the best without ever hearing the performances.El Mocambo is easy because, part of it is out & it would be nice to have more to judge the '71 shows on.

in circulation - no

but a reel to reel recording of a Crawdaddy show from July 1963 was sold at auction at Sothebys for several thousand pounds a year or two ago
