ACDC: I agree, except for the ordering:

1) SMU
2) Ain't Too Proud to Beg OR Going to a Go GO
3) Rough Justice

I was thinking they should do Rough Justice since it has been played during some ads during regular games....BUT what about s "cocks"? what about that?...will they get bleeped forGodsake??
Something Motown probably and one even those who aren't Stones fans will recognize: Satisfaction, HTW, SMU
I wish they would play ONNYA.... BUT FU#@*^' .....OMG what about that??

Hey Krispy,
Here's what our fellow fan auto dog said earlier today:

Super Bowl

I was fortunate enough to be selected to be on the field for the Stones performance during half time of next weeks Super Bowl. We've had one rehearsal so far and are having a dress rehearsal this friday. I undersdtand that the Stones will be there for the dress rehearsal. We should know friday which 3 songs the Stones will perform. I can't tell you how excited I am about this opportunity...Oh, by the way, I'm in the first row....<smiling>. I'll keep ya all posted.

My guess is Start Me Up
Rain Fall Down
and Satisfaction

Perhaps they would play a Motown tune instead of Satisfaction (hence nikkibongs Aint Too yaddah, yaddah.) I'm eager to see how it pans out.

aoutdog, let us know, please. I might be able to amaze a gathering of football friends with my almost mystical ability to predict Stones songs. (ha ha)

Censorship is really totally mad. In the lyrics, cock is a double-entender and litteraly means the animal, right? Chicken, cock. But now these guys censor even words which HAVE A SECOND MEANING which is obscene. Do theses perverts have nothing on their mind but sex?

Either the sweet lil children that will be at the superbowl will be oh so naïve and hear about an animal, or if they get the double-entender, well they already knew the word anyway, so what?

It makes me feel like teaching a lot of swear words to a lot of kids outside the superbowl and have them swearing loud and clear in cameras.

VERY CLEVER! I think the last one flows better than the first two
So what about ONNYA ...they should just keep saying "messing up my life"?
Somehow it loses the genuinesness of the feeling of the words or-something-like-that

Star Star
Stray Cat Blues
CS Blues/Neo Con medley (Kanye West on congas and cringe-worthy rapping)

Take that, sweet neocons!

I agree, otonneau. The creation of the USA is based on freedoms, and yet I understand the need for censorship in situations when people are innocently forced to view or listen to something that is considered to be offensive. But who defines what is offensive? I don't want to have that responsibility, but I think I could do a hell of a better job than the FCC. I don't know what the right answer is, but I do believe that when a word has a double meaning, it is only offensive to someone who already is predisposed to "offensive" thinking, as you said. Also, that whole Janet Jackson thing of two years ago was blown way out of proportion,in my opinion.

11 minutes is only time for three songs. With the Stones arsenal of tunes no way are they going to waste one on Motown stuff.

Hopefully they wont do Start Me Up

.

don't give me that ole one two, one two three four

I've posted it numerous times since the news...

They are going to do a medley of verses and choruses of their biggest hits and they will screw it up in front of the world...no biggie...it's the Stones and only they can get away with it...no chances except for maybe a motown cover (Go GO, Ain't Too Proud, Love Train etc) or a reunion of Aretha, Keith and Wood on Jumping Jack Flash...

Don't forget the longshot appearance of the Motor Cities most famous...
Bob Segar, Ted Nugent, Madonna, Kid Rock, Eminem (paleeze) and any great Motowm artist...my money is on a 33-34 year reunion with Stevie Wonder.

Hey, By the way...does anybody really think the Stones are getting 11 minutes with commercials going for $2,500,000.00 a pop...be serious.

Okay- now I'm really scared. Remember when Mick and Tina Turner did that insipid medley at Live AID- a MEdley would be a disaster!!!!!!!!

On guests- STevie was a chance if they finish with Satisfaction. He's a class act.

If Eminem join the Stones it will be so Keef can smash him on the dome with his guitar.

Keep in mind the Stones only have 11 minutes total from first note to last.

PM got time for 4 songs last year - I think it was 12 or 13 minutes

I think SMU is guaranteed for the opener. I think the reason they are playing on the B stage is to tighten this up.

I would think RFD or RJ as #2

And then JJF or Sat. as the closer.

If they want to be conservative they would play Satisfaction as #2
If they wanted to be just a little bolder without playing a new song they would put HTW, GMS, WH or another of these classics in the #2 spot as a change of pace.
That would be my hope and recommendation.

MJ knows how to deal with the censors so I am not worried about that. Remember LSSTT (instead of LSTNT) on Ed Sullivan (I am not quite that old but I have seen it). That was a young MJ mocking the censorship and still doing what he wanted which was great.
