When I added forum pages to the IORR web some years ago I tried to follow the idea of having Stones song names as names of all the links of the main page. So that is how "Tell Me" got it's name. What it is about. Talking and telling others what you think. But the other two forum pages got really boring names: "Ticket trader" and "Buy/Sell/Trade".

Any suggestions for new names? May be "All Sold Out" instead of "Ticket Trader"? Even more boring is Buy/Sell/Trade". A better name would be great. Short and still right on the function of the pages.

"You Got the Silver?" might be appropriate for one of the other sections....!

I think that's very cool of you to ask others for input. I hope we can step up to the challenge. I think your current descriptions Buy/Sell/Trade and Ticket Trade are very succinct. I think it is good that there is no mistaking what the forums are about. However, if the names were a little more vague (as in Tell Me) it may lure readers on to the forum out of curiosity and I think that would be good as well. Anyway, here's a thought (albeit a corny one), "Aint Too Proud To Beg/Buy/Sell/Trade."

How about:

1) for Ticket Trader...."Ain't Too Proud to Beg" (though I don't know if that REALLY tells what's happening...just how I feel when trying to acquire tickets)....."Rock & A Hard Place" sort of works along these lines as well...

or....I think "Waiting on a Friend" works well in this regard...sort of like the Dead's "I need a miracle" line....every DeadHead in the Universe seemed to use that one (usually to mean..."gimme a free ticket, please....and I'll take some free booze, drugs, place to crash, food, girlfriend, etc. etc. if you have it")

2) Buy/Sell/Trade...."You Got the Silver"....maybe??

or a play on words...."Who's Got the Silver?"

or how about "Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams"

that's the best I can do off the top o' my head....

Also remember the name have to be understood by the 75% of us who don't speak English by first language. Like Infamy is double meaning but for many of us just a strange word. And so on.

Sure "no change" is also input I need. If many ask for it then it will be like it is now.

I think Rockman's suggestion "Where The Boys Go" for ticket trading was really good.

I also think "Where the boys go" is an excellent idea for ticket trading, and I like "Send it to me" for buy/sell/trade!

The cool Erik from South Tälje also has some brilliant ideas. Imho.
In my own scull it´s stuck. Silence. Nobody´s Home.

smile: it took me a while to grasp that that wasn't supposed to sound like a males-only forum.

I think it's rather efficent the way it is.
I usualy scratch my head over at shidoobee's - then it's try & error.
How about putting the 3 forums in a row and pointing out they are forums, while the others are News and Information read only?
If you really want new names, you could have subtitles (with rollover fx)

I've got it!!

I took a walk out in the cold, and then I came up with 3 good suggestions.

TICKET TRADE
- Ticket On Trade Street

TRADE-SELL-BUY
- Trade In The Shade
- Ain't Too Proud To Trade

Was it a good suggestion, or did I just freeze too bad?
