A second date is Paris was already a rumor we knew, but now unconfirmed details are showing up :

Lyon - Venue unknown, Thursday June 29
Paris - Stade de France - 2nd date, Sunday July 2

That would mean a new date or a cancellation for our friends form Belgrade...

any reason why they dropped Belgrade ?
i'm from serbia, and yesterday made a call to our stones promoter, they DON'T know anything about it !!!!

There are some tickets left on this web site for paris on www.mosaicodiffusion.com inwhich i am thinking about but as asked before not sure about the validity & security of this site, anybody else used them in the past.

Another concert in paris would make it easier for me.

I don't know. The rumor of a 2nd date in paris really isn't new.

strange because the Stones play in Athens the same day
is the show of Athens on the verge to be cancelled ?

Le Parisien (newspaper) confirms the Stade de France and writes about talks for Lyon.

Paris 2nd show was confirmed by my source (the one who told me first about Nice instead of Marseille with a mistake in the date).

It can be considered as nearly official. As Gwen posted this morning, the radio NRJ, # 1 in France and sponsor announces on its site both concerts : Paris - Stade de France ( 80,000 ), July 2nd and Lyon - Stade Gerland ( 41,000) June, 29th.Re. www.nrj.fr.

Yeah, it seems pretty sure now, if not officialy confirmed by rs.com. As i told you yesterday in another thread, a friend from the french message board called the SDF box office and they confirmed the second Paris show. A few newspapers from Paris and Lyon also confirm both shows. And Belgrade and Athens were removed from the rs.com list. Sad for you guys from those countries, sincerely. Even if i'm happy to get two more concerts, i think this is not a nice way to act, probably just because they think they will make more money in France.

Well, i wouldn't bet my next salary on it, but i hope you're right for fans from Serbia and Greece.

I hope so, phd. I am from Athens. It would be utter madness to cancel a gig in a city where, in 1998, the Stones played in front of 79, 446 people (the exact number of the sold tickets). I suppose also in Belgrade there are a lot of people who want to see them. I think "another time" is September. In Greece August is a "dead month", unless they plan to do concerts in Mykonos or Corfu!

PARIS (AFP) - The Rolling Stones have added two more concerts to the French leg of their world tour after the original two gigs were all but sold out, organisers said.

The British band would add a June 29 show in Lyon and a July 2 outing in the huge Stade de France arena in Paris to a schedule that already counted a concert in Paris on June 3 and another in Nice on August 8, they said.

The Stones -- combined age 246 -- started their "A Bigger Bang" world tour in the United States last year. They are set to strut their stuff across South America and Japan in the coming months before starting in Europe in May.

No . Major newspapers confirmed both new dates today. Just say tix will be soon available.

FYI they love the Paris Olympia for recordings. No other theatre venue have got such a great setting for cameras and recording equiplent. Still it is famous, intimate, and has got a great crowd always. What more can you ask for? And yes. They always need to record stuff for furure releases.

French people have always welcomed the Stones.They played the Olympia on a regular basis during the 60's and they've always got a fantastic crowd.
During the 60's in France they were more popular than the Beatles.
