Hyde Park in '69 would have to be up there. They were painfully out of tune on that one.

Philadelphia 1978 (actually I haven't heard it, but I've read about it), Philadelphia 1981 and Blind Benefit concert 1979.
Knebworth 1976 and Hyde Park 1969 is also high on the list.

I have Blind Date 1979 and Keith Messes up on JJ Flash so badly it is insane.

Isn't Knebworth available on DVD?

What was so sloppy about Cleveland '78? Does anyone have audio of this show that they could share? I'm from Cleveland so I am just curious. It was before my time (I wasn't born until 1983!), so I didn't attend this one.

I'm rather fond of this one. I was there and I do remember it sounding
a bit spotty in places, but when I got the boot of it, they're much better
than I remembered. What may have sounded great up front may have sounded
terrible in the upper decks.
As for Cleveland '78, Jagger sounds like he wants to be anywhere but there. JKF '78: Despite him having the flu, I don't think they sound that bad.
Knebworth has some really good moments, but LSTNT is hoot to listen to
with all the mistakes. A friend of mine (God rest his soul) that the first show
in Philadelphia in '81 was the best show he'd ever seen. When I asked why,
he said "becasue they were terrible."

In the 10/10 Philly show, they were pretty off-kilter. At the end of the show, Keith launched into the intro to IORR while Jagger sang the opening lyrics to Satisfaction. Jagger won, but it took Keith a good minute or so to concede...

Hyde Park 1969? Yes, totaly agree! 1978 tour (very often). Knebworth 1976 because of Keith. We can add a lot of middle- seventies shows due to Mick. Just listen to LYL. On HTW Mick actualy doesn't sing. On SFTD he sings completaly out of tune. On YCAGWYW Mick sings as if he is munching chick-peas!

I bought the Hyde Park LP not long after the concert. I was amazed at how poor quality the recording was and that even if the quality had been excellent, nothing could have made that show sound good. It was terrible. Out of tune all the way. Yet I wouldn't be surprised that, if I'd been there in person that day, it would have been perfect. The overall experience was so positive.

I agree, Knebworth is sloppy, but some songs are great. I think "Wild Horses" from this show is just perfect. And the older ones R66, LRR, AAA, SCB is really, really rocking. Sloppy isn't the same as bad or boring. Satisfaction rocks too, but in a different way than the Taylor-years-version or 81/82.

Exile....I do have a boot of the 78 Cleveland show...bad aud recording of horrible show LOL! Title is "Shattered in Cleveland." I have no idea how to upload it to anywhere and get it to you. Right now my CD burner is down also. I have to agree MJ sounded like it was a pain in the ass that we had all shown...there were between 80-90,000 of us. Weather was bad. Wirelss Tech was new and not always good. A real shambles.

You can check out Hyde Park 69 here:

It's at the very bottom of the page ... they are way out of tune but overall I enjoyed the performance, I didn't know this was held just 2 days after Brian's death/

Bottom line is that from 78 until Steel Wheels, there were a LOT of shows that don't sound too good. That doesn't mean that it wasn't great to be there, but at times, Mick's vocals and Keith/Ronnie did NOT get it done (Bill and Charlie are always in sync; amazing consistency over the years). It actually makes you appreciate how tight they sounded, esp. on Voodoo Lounge and B2B tours.

As hard as I try to forget that Cleveland concert in 1978...you guys keep bringing it up. Only thing good from that day was on my way in, somebody handed me a bumper-sticker with a Stones tongue on it. I took that bumper-sticker to a tattoo shop and got the tongue put on my arm. Buffalo a few days later took the bad taste out of my mouth somewhat.
Philly in 1981 the opener, was horrible. George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers blew the Stones off the stage...I'm not happy to admit it.

Leeds 1982 (Roundhay Park) was not in the same league as the Newcastle and Wembley shows I'd seen a few months earlier.

Very sloppy.
