What's your favourite liveversion of this one?
I like almost everyone except for the 75/76 version that appears on LYL.

For me it was the 03/10/2003 Budokan Hall Toyko Japan show. Absolutely fantastic about 9 minutes long. It was fun watching this one on the dvd, Mick wanted the song to end and Keith just kept rocking. This is my favorite song.

this tour's version is the only one I can't get into...both RW and KR seem ultra-bored and/or incompetent on TD...it's always been a concert fave of mine until '05....

As great as the studio version is(Mick's best vocal ?)this is totally a live song.Of course Brussels is amazing w/ Taylor's lead and the horns at the end but I also love the '75 versions with Mick doing the "sweet and dandy" vamps as it rolls to the close. It's the one warhorse I would never get tired of hearing-fave song ever, can't explain why.

Detroit 78 - disc 3 of Handsome Girls

Apart from some rollicking versions from the 72-73 tours I like the enthusiasm from 1978. As far as boots go Memphis 78 is the best from that tour to my ears, however anything on the Handsome Girls set gives the listener the idea of what they were doing on that tour, and Dice was a standout. For me this has always been a Keith song that flourishes when he wants it to. When it was unveiled on the 1972 tour Keith really seemed to bring the intensity level of within the band. You can be seen in Ladies and Gents. A great, great song that just needs the intensity from the players for TD to kick ass live.

LYL version without the organ.

Just Mick and Keith on vocals.

Memphis 1978 ...something really clicked that night.

Tumblin Dice is one of teh few songs from that era that Ronnies seems much better that MT.

If you listen/ watch 4 Flicks its a good exmaple of how Keith does not hit all teh subtle chords/ notes on Tumblin like he used to (especially teh start uP)

I haven't seen or heard a 2005 version yet but for me the '75 versions are the best (particularly LA Forum 1975), superb tempo.

There are a lot of great versions, especially from 1972, 1973 and 1994-95. But i can answer easily the question "worst live version?" LYL version!

10th Spot was the best version for a long time. To be honest the whole 10th Spot gig was the best playing for years. Don't know what happened to them there...

78 tour for sure.....Cap Theatre or Memphis. Of course I wouldn't kick Brussels Affaire out of bed either.

It never came close to the studioversion but 1973 is the best. LYL is good too but erase the organ

I realy like the LYL version. Keith's guitar is ripping and snarling away...starts off slow and slinky then picks up towards the end. Keith wailing away on the b/u vocals. Great song!
