Live Licks is really good, I think. I wish I had lost Satanic Majesties.

always thought "Got LIVE if you want them" was essentially unlistenable and useless and up until the release of Rarities - it was the only cd I didn't own and didnt want.....have had countless others on LP, a handful on Cassette, and all of 'em on CD - even Jamming with Edward (so now you know how much I despise "Got LIve' and Rarities

All of my Stones CDs (like the LPs) are lined up chronologically....Oops, looks like I never bothered to get 'Love You Live' on CD....Hmmm, and then there's "Jump Back" - can't think of any good reason to bother buying that one. At least with High Tide, Thru the Past, Made In The Shade, Sucking, they are evocative of the eras in which they originally came out, have a couple of non-lp singles (I know, not MITS), but Jump Back is - in the US, following 40 Licks - purely superfluous. And then I don't have Hot Rocks '64-71, except on Mofi vinyl.
Guess I'm missing quite a few.

I don't think 'Got Live' if total waste. Wyman's bass is thunderous on some of those tracks, and past the crowd noise it has a sped up, frenzied amphetimine-driven quality. It certainly isn't a major album, but imo it's worth having, & the remastered CD is way better than the original vinyl.

I used to own the Got Live if You Want it album on vinyl but couldn't see the point of getting it on CD as it is total and utter crap. Besides, there's nothing live about the thing in the first place. All of the vocals are overdubbed.

There are a few compilations I didn't buy again either. I mean, who actually owns Made in the Shade????!!!

I borrowed RARITIES from the library. I'm glad I didn't spend any hard-earned cash on it. I will simply re-borrow it every couple of years to hear 2 cuts.

The whole lot on vinyl and on CD (twice) is safely stored at home. I wouldn't call myself a fan otherwise.

All the Cd`s, Maxi`s, and 7" Stereo and mono released in Norway are there pluss a lot more like japanese, Singapore, brasilian pressings etc.
What I miss in my collection are LP versjon of Forty Licks, Live Licks and Rarities.

I have been replacing old vinyllps by easter-egging them at Half Price Book stores. It is a process that has taken dozens of years but it is fun to discover one.

I have never had a copy of either Flowers, Get Your Ya Yas out, or Aftermath.

At the time, I refused to buy Live Licks as a protest against them not releasing timely studio albums...I'm trying to easter-egg it now.

#......Go ahead....Bite the Big Apple....Don't mind the Maggots.....Uh Huh...#

Same here. I got rid of it because it was such a rip-off.

I don't have those boxed sets with all of the singles...you know, the ones where each CD has two songs on them, and in their original singles sleeves. Very pricey....

Sorry GR, One dosn't have to have the whole collection to call themselves a fan. I'm a huge Stones fan but I have other interests in life and other things to spend my disposible income on. Some people collect salt shakers, you collect Stones music.

I saw Live Licks at £3.99 two weeks ago in Virgin Records.

Is this a record?

Dirty Work rules! And I've kept the best vinyl editions of most RS albums. In some cases - Exile, the first US pressing sounds better than the CD. As do the Dutch (pink) & UK vinyl "Some Girls." Japanese "Tattoo" sounds warmer, more natural, but you don't get the long version of Slave...And the Mofi box of London/Decca vinyl will be w/ me wherever I go, especially now that's the only place I have a well pressed mono version of 12 x 5 (happy the Chess stuff's out in real stereo on Abkco, too). Mofi's "Ya-Ya's" is definitive as well.
