Best Stones Ballad to play on acoustic

For me its moonlight played in open g but I also find wild horses great because
of all the guitar licks you can play off the verses.you can play in standard
and play all those licks on the e,b and g strings and slides.in open g you can get by and play the licks.i think wild horses sounds the best in open g because
of the rich texture and ringing of the notes.also let it loose sounds great on
acoustic you first would not think due to the organ riff but you can match that
opening riff in standard with a capo and walkdown the d chord.

Waiting On A Friend and Angie sounds great in regular tuning, on your own guitar.

Wild Horses is the one I always play...beautiful song...fun to sing, too.

OpenG, I'm not nearly as accomplished as you appear to be, but my favorite Stones ballad to play is also Wild Horses - even if it's just strumming chords. I also like playing Dead Flowers, though I suppose it's not a ballad.

I don't play guitar, but if you were trying to get in someone's pants, I assume that Wild Horses would be better than Waiting on a Friend or No Expectations.

The 81 version of Waiting on a Friend is nice....capo on the 5th fret.

noted. now, where's your ballad nomination?

"moonlight mile." Though is that really a ballad? A scary one, if so. I do find myself often picking "angie," for some reason. Just happen on that Am7 a lot.

It doesn't seem necessary to play "MM" in open tuning. (correction: yes, it does.)

OpenG, did/does taylor even use open G? It's odd that you took keith's signature for your user ID, when you're such a taylor fan.

I'd have to say Wild Horses. If that don't get you the women song-wise, I don't know what will.

How the hell is this one played??? I can't figure it out.

I'd go with Torn And Frayed, if that qualifies as a ballad.
