Was this the tour when Wyman fathered a daughter he never met?

I'm unsure; but isn't there a story that, whilst on tour in Australia in the 60's, Mick bedded both a mother, and their daughter, at the same barbecue? Rock AND Roll! >grinning smiley<

Bought the cd boxset in my local record store. A nice live document.

Same with this live 1973 set (Hamburg, Essen, Munich, Vienna, London, Brussels). Mind you, it was not sold as a bootleg. there were piles around the store + multiple copies in the shelves etc.

I double checked and it seems this was the tour when Bill found out about the daughter, but the previous years tour was when the fathering happened.

Always weirds me out that he felt the need to include this incident in his autobiography, but seemingly never bothered to look for them.

in retrospect there's a lot of weird details in his book that he probably could have kept to himself

Why? I found this book to be one of the best describing life on the road back in the 1960s, and I think it is great that Bill was very honest about it, including the aspects that were not too flattering. This is outstanding and makes the book a fascinating read - the total opposite is Barbara Charone's book on Keith where she omits anything that could be critical or offensive. It is quite boring to read such an idealized biography. Of course, any memoirs are biased but the detaiis in Bill's book are to be found nowhere else.

I have always thought that Bill fancied it was something to be proud of. Like, he was belittled in terms of writing credits, but then he could always claim that he had bedded hundreds of women and more than Mick Jagger. Surely some kind of ego-show-off.

Of course, any memoirs are biased... but it is the overall expression that counts.

well to start with his defense of his relationship with mandy smith

the constant bragging about all the women he slept with becomes tedious after a while

but i agree he's very honest and in my opinion his is the best book about the rolling stones period and will likely remain so forever

and charone's book is good but yeah she omits a lot
