the 6th stone......after he passed the boys almost didn't make it....dirty work...and then many years attempting solo projects and not even thinking about doing anything together until steel wheels in 89......we waited from 81 to 89 for a tour.....

seems like mick and keith's divorced years....or at least a trial seperation...glad they got back together for all of us...."kids"

rip stu

God bless Stu at his home in Heaven today. May he recieve there what his "friends" never gave him in life on earth....Equal Billing and Full Credit for all his enormous contributions to the band.

He will always be a Stone to me.

It was 20 years ago today [well, 42-43, really]
Sgt Stewart taught the band to play
They've been going in and out of style,
But they're guaranteed to raise the smile,
So may I introduce to you,
The act you've known for all these years,
Sgt Stewart´s Rolling Stones Club Band.

We're Sgt Stewart´s Rolling Stones Club Band
We hope you will enjoy the show
Sgt Stewart´s Rolling Stones Club Band
Sit back and let the evening go
Sgt Stewart´s Lonely
Sgt Stewart´s Lonely
Sgt Stewart´s Rolling Stones Club Band.

It's wonderful to be here,
It's certainly a thrill
Though you´re such a picky board mob,
We'd like to take you home with us, we'd love to take you home.

I don't really want to stop the show,
But I thought you might like to know,
That the singer's going to sing a song
And he wants you all to sing along,
So let me introduce to you
The one and only Willy Perks
And Sgt Stewart´s Rolling Stones Club Band.

There is something I never understand. The Stones never recognize the contributions of Stu or Brian Jones in their shows... well, for the last one they even didn't attend the funeral (Keith and Mick).

Take for example Pink Floyd or Roger Waters; at any live occasion he pays tribute to Syd Barrett.

an old subject

Mick had already arranged (ie prior to Brian's death) to fly to Australia the day after the Hyde Park show to start work on Ned Kelly. He had already put this off to play the Hyde Park show and as it was costing the production a lot of money, would probably have been sued had he delayed it any further.

Regardless of their personal baggage over Anita, Keith's excuse for not attending Brian's funeral has never been satisfactory
