I downloaded Knebworth recently and there is a lot of singing together there. That made me wonder indeed why they don't sing together anymore.

sure, i see that pretty regularly. but the question was about the last time they sang it together on stage.

the question was about Happy, which they didn't perform in 79.
and they still sing together on stage - not Happy, not at the same microphone, and not as much as most of us would like, but still.
smile: Soldier Field 97 has some *beautiful* Glimmer Twin Harmony moments in it.
this tour they both sing on Ruby Tuesday, right? and Sweet Virginia (although they've only done that one once, i believe).

It's really nice to hear them singing together on This Place Is Empty on A Bigger Bang. I wish they would do that one live, with Jagger on backup vocals, although I suppose Jagger isn't about to break the unwritten rule that he can't appear on stage during Keith's solo spot.

Yup, and I think its about the chemestry. They cant stand eachother, they are to different, friends yes, but as time passes by you loose that chemestry. It was evident on stage in 1972. They had something there.

My understanding is that while it may give MJ a breather, it is Keith's insistance that Jagger nor be on stage during his two songs.

On of the very few times Jagger did that was during the Paradiso gigs in '95. Jagger and Richards sang Connection together live. Wich was until then Keith's song during his X-Pensive Winos solo tours. Really nice to see and hear them doing that great song together.


By the way open G, I totally agree with you. Dead Flowers is their best duo vocals effort, not only from 1972 though!

I think it actually IS written in some sort of contract.
Obviously there was the one exception at Paradiso.

They shared microphone on Sweethearts Together on VL according to Keith.

They shared the mike in Prague in 1998 on that unforgettable arena show! They used the same mic in Memory Motel and when Mick left the microphone in the stand before Keef's second part if I remember correctly and when Keith started his part the microphone fell off. It was a great fun and you can hear the sound of the microphone when it fell to the ground.

Yes keefed, I will never forget that moment.
