Reported on Rocks Off, his site for over 25 years, that Gazza - Gary - has passed suddenly. No words. Thinking of his family and many friends.

I was just thinking about him as he had multiple posts in that old 2011 thread about the 70's Biggest Touring Bands currently on the board.

Gazza was someone who most people here respected as a valued opinion on the Stones and other bands. I remember that he was a big Elvis fan and loved Van Morrison and Bruce Springsteen. I always had fun joking around with him and his quirky opinions. Ireland won't be the same without Gazza in it. He was a long time regular contributor here then suddenly I think he (and a few others) had some kind of falling out and left the site, but would still make an occasional appearance.

I never met him in person, but I feel that I and this board have lost a good friend, outstanding contributor and Stones fan.

RIP Gazza.

Does anyone have that picture of BV, Gazza, Vilhelm and Doug from IORR, Rocks Off, Nordic Stones Vikings and Shidoobee together? I reposted it back in 2012 but it appears Photo Bucket no longer has it.

mickijaggeroo I believe you have the original photo, could you please post it for us if you don't mind. Thanks.

What? I am in shock. I thought I saw a post from him just the other day. I talked to him on the phone for my book on the fans. Such a sweet, knowledgable, and witty man.

This is a great loss to all of us.
RIP Gazza.

Gazza would be the most knowledgeable person I know of on The Rolling Stones and music in general

Never met him in person too, but I also noticed that his posts here became fewer and fewer in recent years what I always regretted because whenever it showed "Posted by: Gazza" it was always a Trademark Of Quality...

What a sad, sad day.

My condolences to his family.

RIP Gazza.

Oh, this is hard to process.

I first met Gary in 2001, outside a Bob Dylan concert at the Docklands Arena, in London. I was an active member of the ‘Rocks Off’ message board community for some years, and I always looked forward to meeting-up before the show: Twickenham, 02 Arena, etc. There was a wonderful evening at the Sticky Fingers restaurant, too. He was one of several people who really looked after me when I travelled across the Atlantic, to see the Stones at Giants Stadium in 2002. I’d just turned 19 and hadn’t flown before. I’d have been lost without his companionship.

He was a generous man, too. He sent me a huge box of Stones VHS’ in 2002.

A wonderful man.

Rest in peace, Gary

Alex
