In the meanwhile Robbie Williams sold out 2 shows in Olympiastadion and they announced a 3rd one while you still get tickets for every section (but FOS) for the Stones.

He is simply the top-act next summer. Not that I think so too.

Well, he's doing 4 gigs in the Amsterdam ArenA just before the Stones. Maybe the casual Concert visiter thinks that Robbie is a good excuse for expensive Stones concerts.

But Robbie's tix went on sales weeks before the Stones', so it also could be the case that people won't go to two major concerts, certainly when one of them is charging very high prices.

He´s doing Wembley Arena five times. It´s unbelievable. The Cologne Stadium is too small for him, so he plays in front of it (80.000-90.000 people). The first show sold out in twenty minutes, so a second show was announced, which was sold out in an hour.

Robbie really takes away all the money...smiling smiley

He just has to work twice as hard for it. He should increase his prices and do only one gig instead of two.

Yeah, but maybe he enjoys doing it. In November 1997 I saw him playing in Cologne (E-Werk) - only three hundred people, but he gave all he had.

Wembley Stadium, actually.
Robbie Williams' ticket sales for next Summer are incredible. Between that and the World Cup, Cohl has a tough job ahead of him with the Stones shows in Germany.

lol, you´re from the US?
We mean Robbie Williams. He´s not known in the US (but actually lives most of the year in L.A.). In Europe he´s the biggest star you can imagine.

WOW! Seriously? I guess this just proves the Stones really suck and that you shouldn't buy tickets! Good for you, mate! Nice work! Robbie Williams uses the Stones as toilet paper... FOR HIS DOGS!

*I was being sarcastic*.

Robbie Williams should take a leaf out of the Stones : charge incredibly high ticket prices, hire musicians who are old and can hardly hit the right note, and only play for just under 2 hours....

He'll still get his cash !

The Stones cannot compete with Robbie Williams in Europe. Tha's a fact. As they cannot sell more than U2 in this part of the Atlantic. But the game is not yet finished with U2. I bet that the Stones will attract more audience at the end of their tour than U2 if we add up North-America + Europe.By the way, what is the score of Robbie in the US !!!

God, I can't hear this name "Robbie Williams" anymore. He's a good entertainer, but he doesn't play music that changes the world or influences other acts. It's just solid pop, some nice melodies and that's it. No depth in his songs and he always needs a songwriter with him. He can't write a good album on his own. Just look at the deterioration from "Escapology" to his lastest release "Intensive Care". It's very remarkable that his former songwriter Guy Chambers is missing.
I really can't understand this hype at all. I could understand if e.g. Michael Jackson could trigger such a hype, but not RW.

Btw, Madonna sold better in Europa than RW.
According to [www.geocities.com]
she sold an astonishing 1.377.200 million copies in the first week, RW only 824.000.
Even if you substract her US sales of approx. 350.000 she still did significantly better than him. What a relieve to see that someone can still outsell this pain in the neck in Europe. :-)

If RW would charge the same prices as the Stones you could be sure there would be no need for him to add any extra shows.

Yeah, Robbie...I learned to accept him, even if he gets really on my nerves, that stupid....
The girls, really a majority of them, is just crazy for him - and they all convince their boyfriends to go there with them. And the guys know that you meet a lot of nice girls at a Robbie Williams concert, etc. He is incredibly popular at the moment, the Stones don't come anywhere near him at the moment.

Robbie Williams? Gimme a break. So he sells out in Europe. He aint squat in the US. Comparing Robbie Williams to the Stones? You gotta be kidding. This guy is a turd in the music punchbowl compared to the 43 years the Stones have given us.

musically, no one is going to disagree with you.
But the stark reality is, in Europe, he puts more bums on seats/shifts tickets
than any other act, in the world.

I don't like the guy or his music - but it's a fact.

Must say that Robbie does a lot of promotion for his new album and tour. Saw him in several Dutch tv shows/programs, doing interviews and singing songs from his new album (and all the time different ones). At least he's proud on a new album.

Yes, and that's why it's pissing me off that this b*stard is gonna be ruining sales of the Europe leg of the Stones tour. I hate to think of half empty stadiums esp. in Germany because this little boy is gonna be doing his comedy-pop-mix concerts which all sound the sound. I tell you, if you saw him once there is no need to see him again. Every show sounds the same!
I mean this man stars every tour since the late 90's with "Let Me Entertain You". lol...How unimaginative is that ?! It's like the Stones Opener every tour would be Start Me Up. :-D
That says all about the diversion at his concerts. ;-)

I just hope, the Stones find a way to fill the stadiums. As we all guess this will be last mammoth stadium tour, because they definetely oversaturated the market by now. Too many factors make it harder and harder for them to sell out huge venues. :-(

How IS he? Its two almost entirely different markets!

The ONLY thing thats "ruining sales" of the Stones tour is the silly ticket prices they're demanding
