now are you from Vienna Lorenz ? anyway, bought wavebreakers myself - three tix - for € 350,-

now I'm going back to my bed and cry myself blind - it's f***in expensive, it's crazy to pay 7 months in advance and I hate myself for being that stupid :-(

Lorenz - Thanks for the advice. I finally decided to go ahead and buy tickets. I bought 4 Sitzplatz tickets, since I want to take my family. We have never been to Austria, and cannot wait.

Lorenz my dear, i either want to be in the same hotel as the band or in some place a resident of Po' Land can afford.
they call it Po' Land because we are all so po'. :E

think the band will prob be in the Four Seasons and that will be too expensive for us.. usually they get a sponsor or something for the hotels so will prob be the same chain as they using in the US at the moment

last time i was in Wien was in March a few years ago and it was freezing.. be nice to go to the place when it's warm

with sssoul, I'll get back to you with some suggestions in a while!

Drbryant, Vienna is usually very nice in June, you'll sure enjoy it!

Btw, pitch tickets are now sold out, wavebreaker (FOS) and seated places still available.

It seems that wavebreaker tickets are not available anymore

The field is sold out then, it seems - not bad, didn't think it would go that fast. But I'm quite sure they'll release more tickets in a few months.

There will be some more tix available - Golden VIPs, which include Snacks, Drinks, reserved parkingplace, category 1 seats and admission to the wavebreaker (= FOS). Price is about 225.-- Euro
with ssoul, in 2003 the Stones stayed at the Imperial hotel - don't think we can afford this, as we are all spending our money on tickets...:-))

Depends how much time you'll spend in Vienna?

You can take a walk in the first district and you will cover most of the main sights there - you can also take a walk (or take the tram if you don't want to walk all the way) on the "Ring" (a street that circles the first district). You'll pass by some major sights such as the University, Town Hall, Parliament, , Heldenplatz and Hofburg - that's all within 20 minutes - if you continue on the "Ring" you'll also pass by the Stones hotel and from there it's not far to Stephansplatz and Stephansdom. Mariahilferstraße and Kärtnerstraße are the main shopping streets, if you want go shopping.

Other things to see : Schloß Schönbrunn (old palace), Prater (amusement park and recreation area next to the Happel Stadion) and of course there are numerous beer gardens and "Heurige" (wine bars - don't know how to translate it, something typical for Vienna) a bit outside the center.

>> in 2003 the Stones stayed at the Imperial hotel - don't think we can afford this <<

hey, we can afford it if about 20 of us share a room! should be no problem. :E
okay sorry - so my sense of humour was getting a little obscure when i suggested staying at the same hotel as the Stones -
so where *are* we going to stay? Lorenz honey, your good ideas will be most gratefully received.
the only time i've ever been in Vienna i was at a hotel where instead of having room numbers, the rooms were named after classical composers -
very quaint! they didn't have a Jagger/Richards room yet, so they put me in the Puccini room.
