sounds much like Lou Reed in his later years. Thus not very original…
Well, it is a cover so by definition not original. Same goes for their early work but doesn't mean it is not great to listen to.
I ment 'not very original' in the sense that Keith doesn't add or change anything significant. He just does the song like Lou Reed used to do it.
Sure, the beat is much more relaxed though. It would have fit on Crosseyed Heart.
....better than " goodnight Irene "

Superb cover. Outstanding groove. Anyone know when it was recorded?

When Keith's book Life came out, Keith was talking at NY Public Library. Before Keith was introduced, CindyC walked over to my seat and whispered to me, "That's Lou Reed sitting in front of you!" Sure enough ... it was Lou, seated next to his pal, Belzer (actor/ comedian).
Lou and Belzer left before the end of Keith's talk ...

What guitar is he playing approximately 35 seconds into the video? It pops up again, but that's the first appearance, I think. Is it a Supro/Airline? Has anyone seen Keith play that before?
