Where and who would you have for Your Dream Concert!

First of all I would have the concert at Historic Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. HOme of the SEC Champion Georgia Dawgs.

The opening act would be a game between the Dawgs and them beating th crap out of Texas and just to shut most sport commentators destroy USC in a double header.

Musically, I would bring back Robert Johnson, Chuck Berry (not dead yet) and Johnny Cash, and Elvis followed by Allman Brother and Gov't Mule.

The Stones would headline (of course) where I would sit in for three to four numbers on guitar. Where they would play for four hours covering as much as possible.

Feel free to be creative as possible but please don't start the RW and MT crap.

Hey, nank, I actually got to see James Brown sing "Dooley's Junkyard Dawgs" at beautiful Sanford in the late 70's. The place is a slice of heaven on an autumn Saturday afternoon - Those BEAUTIFUL Georgia girls, a few beverages, some good eats, and SEC action. Usually lots of good music in the air. Let's don't forget the legend - Larry Munson! Peace.

Musically, the Rolling Stones.

Dream "Festival":

Motley Crue
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Grateful Dead... current lineup is fine
Bruce Springsteen
Elton John
Neil Young and Crazy Horse
Creedence Clearwater Revival REUNITES
Bob Dylan (if he can find his voice, and play mostly classics)
Cream Reunion or perhaps even better yet, Derek & the Dominoes reunion.
The Rolling Stones

and for encore, Stevie Ray Vaughan is re-incarnated, Buddy Guy and Mick Taylor join 'em on stage and they play an encore of "Playin' in the Band", "Like a Rolling Stone", "Hey Hey, My My (Rock and Roll Will Never Die)", "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting", "Street Fightin' Man (with Mick Mars grindin' the lead if he can still stand by this time), "Give it Away", "Long As I Can See the Light", "Life by the Drop", and "Sweet Home Chicago"

Can I keep going on this ???

Venue... no question... Chicago United Center... the Stones own it.

I would have the concert in Egypt with the pyramids as a background. This New Year's Eve concert would start at 6 PM with Cream, 8 pm Led Zeppelin, Beatles 10 pm and the Stones would close the night at 11:55. At midnight. they would start the countdown and go into "Midnight Hour" when Otis would appear trading lines with Jagger.

I'd love to have the Rolling Stones at the local (once legendary) music club "Atlantis" with a capacity of maybe 300 people. As a warm-up I'd suggest the Pretty Things.

I am so jealous. Not old enough to have been around for that one. JB in Sanford. Awesome. I think the only change to my setlist would be to have Otis Redding play as well and some Commentary By Larry Munson. I will not be suprised if I die go to Heaven is basically Sanford Stadium and Athens on game day.

My dream concert, would take place at my favourite venue-
The Borderline Club, in London. (Preferably, on my birthday)

I'd have a triple-bill of headliners (doing 1 hour set, each):-

The Rolling Stones
(with Wyman and Taylor, back in the fold , for one night only)

Buddy Holly and The Crickets
(my fave R&R pioneer- gone before his time)

The Flying Burrito Bros
( Gram Parsons era- of course)

The support act, would be The White Stripes.

At the end of the show, the drink would be flowing and all the bands, would come out on stage and do an impromptu jam/ 4 song-encore-
JJf...Not Fade Away...Hickory Wind...Hotel Yorba.

Its a dream -but it's my dream.
