This isn't really a three song sequence. One needs to to shift the side of the album in the middle of them. "Luxury" belongs to a different context than the two others that close the first side. It starts something new.
CD killed the beauty of an album as a listening experience and as an art form. Yep.
Is "Tumbling Dice" followed by "Sweet Virginia". Or "Neighbours" by "Worried About You"? Hell not! Different sides, different stories. The first track of side two is something else than track number 6 or something.

That's a valid point actually. Maybe it's because I first encountered IORR on CD that it doesn't make a huge difference to me compared to more recent releases I listen to on Vinyl only... Or maybe I'm just a quick shifter
Haha.. I know what you meant... I just used this as an opportunity to bash the whole CD era, so please forgive me.. But the fact is that I have learned to think, say, IT'S ONLY R&R in the old vinyl terms, despite I have not listened vinyls for ages...

Yep indeed.
TY is the prime example of album for which each of the two original sides has it's own individual and unique character.
Exile can also sometimes seem like 4 mini albums in one.

My favorite is already mentioned above from the 72-73 tour, that's full on energy. After that I like Not Fade Away, Tumbling Dice and YGGMR.

Hard to pick whether to start at Midnight, or YGTS:
1. "Midnight Rambler"
2. "You Got the Silver"
3. "Monkey Man"
4. "You Can't Always Get What You Want"
HD is also a hard pick for side one. I could start at any one of the first 4 songs...just stellar.
Same for side 2 Tattoo You...you could start on any one of the first 3 songs and it'd be an amazing run.
