Whos voice is it that we hear in the beginning counting in? Does not sound like Charlie. Ronnie?

Out of all the new songs I heard yesterday, this one stood out to me. It was so good I couldn't help but smile to myself thinking "they did it, they made a great album". "I'm gonna treat you goooooood".

This is such a good guitar number. Ronnie shines on this track, and throughout the whole record.

Parts of 'Live By The Sword' remind me of Mick's sung 2019 Tour-announcement - [www.Facebook.com] .

Ronnie is my guess as well.
He's listed as the only back up singer on this, almost certain it's him.

Without a shadow of doubt, it’s Charlie doing the count-in. Sticks’n’Voice at the same time, plus that accent is a dead giveaway!

Some very good Bass tracks all over the album. How wild is it that Wyman comes in, and lays the best one down?

Its a jumping little record that I want my jockey to play...

Loving this one more and more each spin.

Nice to hear Bill and Charlie back together again.

This one has a wonderful swing. Bills jumpy basslines on Charlies groove. Certainly makes this track sound like the Stones used to sound like.

This one is my second favorite track on the album, just narrowly behind "Get Close." Sounds like pure old school rock & roll to me. I love Elton John's piano on this one. I wish they gave him a solo.

For me this is one of the weakest songs of the album, but not a bad one. I don't think we have bad songs on this album

It sounds as a funny song, to move your body, to sing it . And yes It sounds to that song Mick was singing in 2019.

Each song is unique and having manny different opinions on the best songs of the album is great. I think that is what makes this album great.

It sounds like Charlie. Sounds nothing like Ronnie's voice, imo.

Studying the liner notes, I noticed that here Don Was is credited with recording and producing, while on Mess it Up, he is not mentioned and only Krish Sharma (who I think is connected to Don Was) is credited as recording engineer. So I would assume, that while Mess it up only uses Charlie's drum track, with Live by the Sword the whole backing track was recorded live back in 2019 and that's also what we got here (sans the bass and other overdubs).

Also quite interesting is that Matt Clifford is credit with recording and engineering the vocals. Don't know how to interpret that

Nice touch on this if accurate.

"Watts counts in “Live By the Sword,” an exhilarating exercise of a song featuring Elton John on piano and Stones alumni Bill Wyman, who returns to the mix for this one on bass."

Love to hear Charlie and Bill, but it’s my least favorite song on the album. Kind of generic

Yes, the “I’m going to treat you good” sounds like Sweet Neocon. Which is funny because I love this song, but don’t like Sweet Neocon at all! Go figure.

LIVE BY THE SWORD... this song is kind of a a paradox.

Maybe it´s the poorest song. But at the same time it´s the best track on the album.

The songwriting seems uninspired; the lyrics make an old shark cry.

That´s for sure: BMHO, A, GC rock better, WWW and MIU are more entertaining. SSOH is epic !

BUT... the collaboration of Charlie and Bill makes LBTS swing and roll. It´s the only song on the album, that makes me wanna move and dance. It shows us, what the ROLLING STONES are about: RHYTHM!!

Listening to LBTS is like COMING HOME!!

catchy and groovy (that is "rolling") whereas whole wild world and bite my head off are catchy and poprockyish

though I do dig WWW (a bit less BMHO) I agree with you Priest, this song, as "little" as it is is a sort of homecoming
