The Worst.
My guess is that Mick has notebooks for each session filled with ryhmes and lines that can be used in different songs. Beggars Banquet is riddled with Biblical references, lines were shuffled across Exile etc. 95 % of Jagger lyrics are written from the "I" or "You" perspective.

This is the beginning of Emotional Rescue: "Is there nothing I can say, Nothing I can do" This is the beginning of Terrifying: "No matter what you say, No matter what you do"

In the end it is the same man writing lyrics, there will be repeats and similarities. Just variations of the same. Then occasionally you get something brilliant and unique, like Sympathy for the Devil or Mother's Little Helper, lyrics with some depth to it other than "You're awful bright, you're awful smart
I must admit you broke my heart... crossing the Rubicon" etc.

In New Orleans a lot of people despise their landlords: renters. Everyday word down here along the Gulf Coast.

Voodoo Lounge is not a very good album,it,s some good songs on it,but after a while is a bit boring

Calling their album "Voodoo Lounge" is such a naughty strike. What were they thinking?

Sorry, english is not my native language, what do you mean?

Maybe I should say streak, but that´s not important. What I meant was just calling their album "Voodoo Lounge". That would mean a lounge full of bad guys, or at least with dubious intentions, having to do with the occult.

I thought VL was a reference to where a cat (Voodoo) that Keith rescued liked to hang out (Lounge).

There is, or was, a real club in NYC called the Voodoo Lounge. Not sure which came first though. Was never my scene.

Live at Racket is such a glorious little shot of salvation, makes me wish they had played just a couple more songs. Would've loved to have seen Live By The Sword unveiled or maybe Ride 'Em On Down dusted off for the intimate setting. But I also love that it's a proper club gig, with Racket just giving this band of upstarts half an hour to try and win over the crowd.

Goddamm, I love the Rolling Stones!

Do you have BEGGARS BANQUET? LET IT BLEED? Or GOATS HEAD SOUP - and anything through 1983's UNDERCOVER?

Are you truly offended by an album name that, to you, implies "a lounge full of bad guys, or at least with dubious intentions, having to do with the occult"?

Obviously you are.

You really take that crap seriously?

Obviously you do.

Are you some kind of "holy person" that's stumbled onto this board?

Seems so. Fine. Cool.

All of what you say is no different than taking the bible seriously - and what a joke - at least The Rolling Stones are real and enjoyable.

HACKNEY DIAMONDS + LIVE EDITION playing now.

Yeah yeah they fixed it.

Whatever.

New tracks are GREAT!

I won't be able to see them this year. So I'm happy to get this.

At some point, I hope, Steve Jordan stops honoring Charlie, exactly, and just let's it fly himself.

He kind a does but it's A LOT for him to take on.

Some fans that are still 'Oh it's not Charlie it's not The Stones'... hopefully they get over it and move with, like The Rolling Stones have.

Want to define who The Rolling Stones are?

No Brian Jones? Is that it?

Lame.

No Mick Taylor?

Lame - he QUIT.

Ronnie - ha ha, he's been here since 1975... actually since 1973 but officially 1976.

They're not Lyndrd Skynrd or The Beach Boys, fake bands.

Mick, Keith and Ronnie are clearly cool with being The Rolling Stones because they are The Rolling Stones.

It dropped from the UK Top 100 this week, it went 1-6-25-62-out after the Christmas season.

Forty Licks is still there at #73.

With this background (and B&L in 2016 too) any future release of a new album will be between October/November of any year to maximize sales.

Hypothetical Bonus Track for Hackney Diamonds

Suppose Andrew Watts had asked you to choose the least enjoyable track on HD, which would be deleted, and then recommend as a substitute, another Stones song.
I like all of the HD tracks but would state that Driving Me Too Hard should go.

The replacement would be All the Rage, which never made it on an album, I think. The opening riff is a dark, howling masterpiece by Keith, and features two guitar solos, one by Keith and the other by Mick Taylor. This song is really a classic, and one of my all time favorites.

It wouldn't work. Some people list Dirty Work as one of their favorite albums. Totally clueless. And I'm sure Andrew Watt does not pick the final tracks.

BV please get rid of this topic

First off, it's Andrew Watt.

Pull you head out. Do you say Ronnie Woods?

Obviously so.

However...

Your point has zero to do with what they recorded, based on what you said.

A track from the 1970s?

Such mindless garbage.

BV, DELETE this.

All the Rage was already released on Goat Heads SoupDeluxe.Itwas worked up from You Should Have Seen Her Ass,by Mick with new vocals and lyrics. Why would a new Stones album in 2023 have a song from 1973? Why not just add a Brian Jones era outtake like Family, or I Can See It? This an inane post

I could do without Live by the Sword. I would add Chain of Fools. Right after the Keith song. Ronnie duet with one of his female vocalists.

I would add Satisfaction. Then their biggest hit would be in an Album from 2013. I would delete Rolling Stone Blues because it's even older than Satisfaction.

That would be Dead Flowers. Works on a rainy Wednesday but certainly not on Tuesdays...

One note on the side: actually Don Was did get to say that some tracks that the Stones had wanted on VL weren't going to be included.
