Yeah, I saw this memorial page early this morning. Was curious about his absence from the board for past few weeks, particularly with the buzz for the new album he’s been awaiting for so long. Did a search, knowing his name from his reviews on the board and his residence (not far from my hometown in Ventura County, CA). Sadly, my intuition seems to have proven correct.
Although we never met, we did engage in a little verbal jousting once or twice. He was a prolific contributor and will be missed from IORR.
RIP, Eric/Hairball.

Perhaps others here who knew him could also confirm. Was able to match his full name etc from correspondence we had some years ago.
As much as we disagreed and argued on here (got banned arguing with him once) , I was pleasantly surprised to discover we got along great when we met in person a few times.

Yeah, there probably aren't any poster here that could drive me more nuts, or I could have not disagreed more with in regard to almost anything - and for years we did best to ignore each other's posts - but I feel really down now. He like belonged to the constitution of this site. Actually when he stopped posting it felt odd because I, like I guess everyone, was so used to his daily posts. Felt like something was missing. And damn, he not just missed the new album he had counted so long, but also the Macca track (and in a way he was always right with his annoying 'hit the wall' comments). Does not sound fare.
I only knew him via his posts here. As a person - outside the moniker and presence here - he surely was something much more and else. Social media just sometimes makes communication so difficult. I just checked his site and he was a great artist. I like his works.

I always read his posts with great interest.
He expressed his sometimes divisive opinions with honesty and passion.
He loved the band and criticised it. No blinkers and good ears.
He will be sorely missed on this site.

This is very sad news.
Like many here, I never met Eric, but he was a constant on iorr, someone whose posts you would see literally every day when browsing the Tell Me forum.

Very sad. I looked forward to, and enjoyed his posts as well as his recommendations. I'm stunned that he won't be here in the future and had really missed him over the last month or so. His absence was noticeable almost immediately. RIP Hairball

I’m shocked and stunned to read this as he wasn’t that old. Had many exchanges with him down the years and enjoyed his posts. A big loss to this board and a much bigger one to his family and friends.

We passed more than once at shows and I was trying to meet him on the next tour.

I was hoping to meet him in LA for a show.
We didn't always agree, most certainly, but he expressed his opinions well, and

Such very very sad news. I, like so many others, have missed his posts, and it is so shocking to learn that he has passed. He was still quite young, only 60 I think. I was looking forward to hearing his views of the new album and his thoughts on the upcoming tour. Hairball, we are all going to miss you a lot! Rest in peace.
