and there rest of us is disussing what they heard at release parties or on the internet (in Europe it's already release day – so anyone can hear the songs on amazon music, apple music etc.)

I mean a club gig to launch an album as they've often done to break the ice before a tour

They've never done that!
[iorr.org]

What album was launched at the Phoenix Club?

"before a tour" -> 2005 tour
Double Door -> No Security and so on

right. But usually the release of a new album was followed by a tour more or less immediately

So this is different

Like on Dylans tour and every show is on the net.

Confirmed it is at The Racquet Club, it’s industry only. The listening party is at the Carnaby St. store.

Confirmed where?

Like I’m going to reveal sources…

Then just say it's from a private source, instead of letting me guess there is a (semi) public confirmation somewhere.

However thanks for sharing. Something is happening for sure

It's from the publicist for the band. Nuff said.

I sure hope there will be some videos. Maybe even professional ones. But for example the tent show 2021 - first show without Charlie. Not much footage.

right, but bootleggers usually do not use their phones for recordings.
Plus: The Rolling Stones play to a very small and selected audience. So it's much easier to ban recordings devices. Think about other club shows – are there full recordings of the shows at the Echplex, Le Trabendo or Theatre Mogador?
And invited guests, VIP and record company people are not the typical bootleggers…

Double Door was pre-BRIDGES post-Toronto rehearsals, pre-Soldier Field rehearsals.

I don't understand this back and forth arguing about "have they done it before or not", they clearly have never played a club gig to promote an album when there wasn't a tour shortly after. Only Mick did that, in 1993 and 2001. Julliard would be the exception for the Stones I suppose but it was done to announce an album and a tour. And in 83 they played at the Bains Douches in Paris to film UC and they jammed a bit but it can't be considered a gig.

It might not even be the same band tonight and in 2024, probably no Chuck, Sasha, Tim, Bernard or Darryl tonight. If Bill's there as has been rumoured he's unlikely to tour with them next year !

Well, it could be footage they're planning on adding to the documentary that they're currently marketing to distributors. Or it could be for the Tonight Show on Friday. I'm guessing it's for a music video, and we might not see the whole show for a while.

Either way, hopefully the setlist will be posted as soon as it's over. It's great that they're doing a show! We are truly lucky to be fans of a band that still has so much juice at this stage of the game.

Yondr pouches that prevent phone use in the venue are becoming extremely common. They’ve moved to use in large arenas as well. Dave Chappelle’s recent arena shows all had them — 20,000 people had to lock their phones in them.
